Comfortable and you get what you pay for
Hotel is old and could be maintained better but room is spacious and fairly clean. Corridors are not air conditioned which was a little uncomfortable but otherwise good value for money. Breakfast buffet is basic but decent.

Good but hotel needs update
I would rate Oriental as 3.5 star hotel. Staff is courteous and friendly. Location is fantastic with ample food and amenities around. However hotel is getting very outdated and needs refurbishment. For instance, hot water for bath is really slow and it still uses curtain as shower door with nowhere to place your bath gel, shampoo and etc. All security safes are not working and seems like they are not ready to fix them. I have complained numerous times and no one really bothers. Anyway it is still the best hotel in Kajang town centre.

3.5 stars not really
I stayed here as it was convent for me visiting my family. As it was only 3.5star hotel cant expect the world but a carpet that has been cleaned and vacuumed would have been nice. Also towels that dont look and feel as though they have been used since the hotel has openned. Also the breakfast buffet was reheated. The only good thing was the fresh cooked eggs on request. The pool also need to be cleaned. I could feel slugs on the pool floor, not nice.

The poorest stay!
The reception requested me to pay RM$418 for two night stay. Then I showed them the document given by Expedia to prove that I paid for the flight-hotel package already. But they did not trust me. At that time I am extremely tired. So I contact Expedia and help settle my problem. After they talk to Expedia, they said that they will give me the room until they got the new document from Expedia. How come?! Therefore I said that I could not wait one more minute and asked them to give the room key at once. All the matter could be fixed later. From this, it showed the service standard of the staff there. The room is big but the ceiling outside the toilet has a big black stain of leaking. It is quite disgusting and showed that it lacks of maintenance. I had two-day coupon for breakfast because the food is cold and the service is bad. When I wanted to have a bowl of flat noodles, I asked the staff to help me but she replied that it's a self served counter. Then I told her the soup for noodles was cold, then she turned the stove and walk away. The poorest experience!!!!

Overall the hotel is good. The only thing that was upset is that when i checked in they asked for payment and when checked out they also asked for payment but in actual fact is that i had fully paid during my booking with hotel.com I think that their staff should be prepare or do their homework before asking payment from the guests.

The Receptionist service was very poor, no manner, and not a professional guy to ask for the customer detail, as I ask to change from Single bed to queen-size bed, he was showing his frustration to me that there is no more queens-size bed anymore.

The room is spacious and clean, hotel staff are polite. Over all the stay was a pleasant experience, although i haven't used other facilities such as Gym, Swimming Pool.

Okay choice for the area
There aren't many decent hotels in the area around Kajang and Semenyih, and this is probably one of the better ones. The room was clean (except for a couple long hairs in the bathtub), the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. The neighborhood is rather rundown though. Breakfast is pretty standard hotel fare: a couple trays of sliced fruit, salad, an omelet bar, and some basic Malay foods. Dinner wasn't anything memorable but it was fine for a quick meal. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and try to be helpful. I did have one big issue though: the safety of my credit card and identity information. First, the receipt they printed out had my full credit card number printed on it - that's a super outdated and unsafe receipt system. Second, after I checked out, they wanted to keep my registration card, on which they had written my full credit card number and 3 digit verification code. That would make it exceptionally easy for an identity thief to get all my information, especially since they also kept a photo of my passport. I insisted on destroying it so my credit card info and identity couldn't be stolen, which was a bit of a problem for them that required a call to the manager. For the safety of the guest's credit card and to prevent identity theft, it's standard practice for hotels to return, shred or conceal a guest's credit card info after check-out, so I hope they will adopt this practice in the future.
