Place2Stay claims three stars but it doesn't offer this quality of accomodation. The building is not well maintained, the rooms are a little shabby and the services are basic. Rooms are never cleaned during the stay, even for a longer stay, and the waste bins are never emptied. Please give your guests a broom and let they know that bottles are not to be thrown away in the room bins! It's definitely not good value, hardly two stars. But the location is great as a lot of good Kuching restaurants are located around and it's possible to walk on the river side to the city centre.

Nice budget hotel

We booked a family room and on arrival, there was no room available as another guest had extended his stay. Staff were very helpful and we were put in a small windowless room. The aircon worked well but the room could have done with a clean. We were moved to another room the next morning only after I insisted that I wanted a room I had seen vacant. It was less than I had paid for but seemed okay. However, on closer inspection once inside the room, the toilet had a leak. They came in to fix it twice. The shower worked well with great water pressure. The clean towels were stained and could do with some bleach. The wifi signal in the room was strong enough for three people to be online at the same time. There is no wifi in the reception area, so print out your booking reference beforehand. If you need to print anything the Margherita hotel, down the road will print a page for RM1. The hotel should not claim to be a business hotel when it operates more like a low budget one with higher prices. Would I recommend this hotel? If you don't mind bringing your own towels and amenities, sure. If you just need a place to sleep and store your luggage while you explore Kuching, sure.

The price is right. I would love to book this place since i get the riverview (and the balcony!) compared to other places. But they need to step up on the cleanliness. I found a cheese snack on the side of the bed and the comforter got pen stain. I even found some hair from the previous tenant on the bed. The room is spacious this time and i think i will book the same room next time.

Space is suffice for me (solo), love the view (especially the balcony!). Altho need to improve on the sheet cover and pillow cover (got tear). The tv is only 2 channels but i don’t really mind since i’m hooked on laptop. Overall is satisfactory. And i’m grateful the hotel is still open for people like me who is from out of town. I come here to get my first dose vaccine and most probably book the same hotel for my second dose around 8-12 weeks to come.
