On 14 April 2016, a massive earthquake (magnitude 6.2) struck Kumamoto prefecture and damaged numerous structures of the Kumamoto Castle complex including the main castle. Routes and pathways were still open and available for visitors. During our visit, efforts for reconstruction of Kumamoto castle were under way as can be seen in the background of this photo. The Uto Yagura turret (foreground), on the other hand, survived the quake and remains intact.
Kumamoto Castle suffered huge damages during the strong earthquakes in May. I was there earlier today & saw this from the Kumamoto City Hall observation deck. Many families who lost homes still seek help from the City Hall. Some parts of the foundations were damaged as well as roofs. Castle is closed. #endlesssummer
As can be seen, the roof tiles were damaged from the May earthquakes. It must have been very scary for Kumamoto residents 3 months ago. The quakes can be felt almost on the North Kyushu island! #endlesssummer

整體來說就是太棒了，當然還是有美中不足的地方是會一直聞到樓下燒烤店的味道，但整個空間跟居住體驗還是太讚了，非常適合家庭以及多人數的住宿，有廚房有洗衣機，有兩衛浴，兩廁所，四床，以及超大空間，如果同樣價格真的選別的不一定有這麼大的空間，而且附近就是商店街，可以方便覓食方便停車
