Hotel Okura Kobe

"Some more maintenance could be done. Refrigerator was not working and when I went to check if it was plugged it, there were piles of dust behind. Toilet seat had some clear glue like substance on it, maybe residual cleaner. Overall clean otherwise. The facilities are starting to look dated but kept it good shape. I wish I knew about the free shuttle before I walked 20 minutes from the train station. Free Landry machines are a nice touch with QR code to check machine status."

"Amazing location! Close to everything including a train station. Staff is extremely hospitable. The star of the show was the VIEW! Wow what a view. Will highly recommend this hotel!"

"It was much larger, stylish, and comfortable room than any similarly priced hotel. Amenity was very nice and the desert and coffee service was free of charge at the lobby. I would definitely come back!"

"The hotel is a bit dated - but well worth the convenience of proximity to the Shinkansen - a quick walk over a bridge to the hotel lobby. The room was quite roomy with an excellent breakfast including both western and Japanese options. There is also a quick walk over to the herb gardens and an enjoyable walk down to the port area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. I loved Kobe and my stay at Ana Crown Plaza!"

"When a property offers a gym and a hot and ice bath facility, then it has the capacity to really please its guests. I loved using both of those areas. However, when on one night the room is valued at AU$176.and the next night it is AU$53, you sort of raise an eyebrow!!! The restaurant called The Harbour provides a very decent buffet, that is overpriced given there is no opportunity to eat past 9 pm. The HANGOUT on the top floor is wonderfully located but the staff didn’t have a clue what was going on regarding reservations. At the entrance near reception is a claim to be internationally known, yet no one speaks English and neither is there an English menu. I think the property is poorly led, because the staff are very transactional and do not appear to have a sense of mission and awareness as to what they are creating. This property could be so much more. I recommend it, if health facilities are important to you. Bernie Kelly"

"Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found the hotel to be clean, well maintained, and conveniently located. The guest laundry facilities were particularly useful during our trip. We also appreciated the complimentary snacks and drinks available in the lounge, and the wine vending machine was a memorable and enjoyable touch that we had not encountered elsewhere. The rooms were comfortable but quite compact, particularly when travelling with larger suitcases. While this is not unusual in Japan, it did make moving around the room somewhat challenging. I also appreciate the hotel’s transparency regarding the ongoing Wi-Fi issue and the efforts made to provide an alternative connection space in the 2nd floor lounge. However, the lack of reliable in-room Wi-Fi had a significant impact on our stay. For a hotel of this size, internet access is now an essential service for most guests rather than simply a convenience. While technical issues can occur, the problem appeared to affect a substantial portion of the hotel and had apparently been ongoing for some time. It may be worthwhile reviewing the current network infrastructure, provider arrangements, or contingency options to better maintain guest connectivity in future. Despite this issue, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning if the Wi-Fi situation is resolved."
