We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable, but what truly stood out was the staff going above and beyond to make my son’s birthday special. Per my request, they arranged a cake for him, which meant so much to us. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive, and communication was excellent throughout our stay. The food at the restaurant was very good, but the absolute highlight,the best of the best was the breathtaking view of the volcano. Truly unforgettable.

What a perfect natural oasis with spacious beautifully situated bungalow style accommodation and an open air restaraunt looking out on the stunning Arenal Volcano. Sloths , toucans and other wildlife right on our doorstep. Set well back from the main road. Quiet and peaceful. We loved it.

The room was large, fit our family of 4 nicely. The rock wall shower fountain was so beautiful in the bathroom. The pool was the best part. It was heated so on cooler, rainy days we could swim for hours.

A beautiful setting with flowering plants, birds and butterflies. Clean with very friendly staff. The one draw back was our room was very close to the restaurant so that we had no wifi (my guess it was supposed to connect with the router at the restaurant but it didn't ). I could stand outside other cabanas and log in... First world problem. Otherwise quiet and nice. La Fortuna is a crazy busy town so you really can't walk from this hotel anywhere as the roads are narrow and cars are a bit fast.

We had a wonderful stay here with our 5 teenage/young adult children. I was skeptical that the views and the rooms were as great as the pictures, but they were even better. We had two villas near each other for 7 people and had plenty of space. The location is private, yet a short Uber drive to La Fortuna. The food at the restaurant was great, though not a huge variety. There is AC in the rooms, which wasn't obvious from the listing, but much appreciated. The staff was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and helpful. If I had any criticism, it is that there are no loungers at the pool, only chairs. And yeah, it rained pretty hard on a couple of days. Overall, it was the perfect choice of hotel for us and I highly recommend it.

We had a very nice stay. I would go back. If you have mobility issues the cottages are uphill a bit but you can take a ride in a golf cart. WiFi in the back cottages was spotty but I think that is common. The view was amazing and our kiddos enjoyed the unique shower.

We had a wonderful stay at Hofel Mountain Paradise and truly enjoyed the beautiful natural setting of the property. The resort feels like it’s tucked right into the rainforest, and we were delighted to see colorful birds—especially toucans—along with agoutis freely roaming around. It made every walk around the grounds feel special and immersive. The pool and bar area was a highlight for our family—great place to relax after a day of exploring Arenal. Breakfast at the restaurant was decent and a good way to start the day, while the dinner menu was quite good, with tasty options and a nice atmosphere. One area that could really use improvement is the lighting. The lobby, restaurant, walkways, and rooms were all very dark. In addition, the white LED lights currently used in the lobby, rooms, and dining areas give off a cold, uninviting vibe. Warmer lighting would make a big difference and create a much more welcoming and cozy ambiance throughout the property. A special shoutout to Madelyn at the front desk—she was absolutely amazing. She helped arrange transportation, offered great local recommendations, and booked tours for our family with ease. Even before our trip, she was incredibly prompt and helpful over WhatsApp, always responding quickly and making us feel reassured and comfortable with our itinerary. Her hospitality truly stood out and made our stay stress-free and memorable.

Loved our stay at Hotel Mountain Paradise! The place is beautiful, with amazing views of Arenal Volcano right from the doorstep, and beautiful rainforest all around. And all the animals around! Our bungalow was spacious, clean, and felt very private. The staff was friendly and always happy to help - they even helped us out with the travel crib for our little one. The hot pools was a great bonus and perfect for relaxing after a day out, or even during the rain. Would definitely stay here again—highly recommend if you’re visiting La Fortuna!

View of volcano from part of pool. Great drinks and friendly staff. Saw toucans and hummingbirds. Stayed in presidential suite which is the only villa that can be parked at all other villas you must park at main lodge and take golf cart or walk. Breakfast was excellent!!!!!
