The Sunshine Cottage has all the comforts you need and is Kid & Pet Friendly!

Adorable cottage sits on a private corner lot… you have the entire home to yourself and will be impressed with the positive and peaceful vibe that comes upon you the moment you walk in. Don’t let the fact that the cottage is only a 1 bedroom fool you… it is very spacious and the high ceilings make it feel much larger than the 1200 square feet that it actually is. There is a touch of antiquity, but it has all the modern features and updates you could ask for.
Bedroom is large and offers a work space, lots of natural light, a closet, and room for a crib or for the queen size air mattress to be placed comfortably without feeling cramped.
Bathroom is right off the of the master bedroom and is my favorite part of the entire house! The claw foot tub allows for soaking and relaxing, while also having a shower head and wrap around shower curtain.
Living room has an electric fireplace, huge smart tv, queen sofa sleeper and plenty of comfy seating. Dining area for 6 guests to enjoy their meals and/or playing board games/cards. Lots of storage and space for someone to also have an extended stay…. Closets, cabinets, pantry, and a full-size indoor laundry room with shelves and cabinets too.
Kitchen is fully-functioning with stainless side by side fridge/freezer, electric stove with double ovens, dishwasher, microwave, farm-style sink, butcher-block countertops, Kuerig coffee maker can be used with pods or the guests can make an entire pot of coffee… there is also a small French press for those who prefer the stronger stuff! Kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, pots, pans, blender, toaster, frother, hand-mixer, seasonings and so much more. Enjoy your coffee or wine on the back patio or on the front porch… you can even enjoy cozying up by the fire pit (firewood provided for your convenience and at no extra cost). There is a bbq pit, bbq utensils, and charcoal provided for you, also at no additional cost. Traveling with children? There are coloring books, markers, crayons, and a few games for them to enjoy. We also provide a pack-and-play with bedding & baby gates if you have an infant/toddler (stored in bedroom closet). Are you traveling with your beloved “fur-baby”? We are animal lovers and will accept pet(s) on a case by case basis, so please let us know ahead of time what type of pet(s), how many, breeds, etc. Please make sure to send us pics of them too, we are compiling a photo book of the pets who have stayed with us and would love to add your’s to the mix. The Sunshine Cottage is also a great place to host a small/intimate birthday gathering, tea party, baby or wedding shower… we can simply move some furnishings around to give you more space and the carport can then double as an outdoor small event space (extra charges and more detailed arrangements can be made if you need us to provide a couple of tables and chairs to help with that). Whether you are looking to totally disconnect and have peace and quiet during your stay or you want to go out on adventures… it’s up to you!! Within 1-20 minutes there are swamp tours, kayaking, fishing, boating, cycling, state parks, playgrounds, delicious foods, libraries, lakes, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets to be enjoyed! Within 30-45 minutes there are MISSISSIPPI gulf coast beaches, lots of shopping, and even New Orleans things to tour.
What an amazing central location we have… bring your boat, because there is plenty of room to park it and boat launches are extremely close, as well as a convenience store that is well-stocked with live bait & a ton of tackle (BAYOU STUFF)… they also serve amazing po-boys, sandwiches, hot lunches, and pizza! So much to do and see… we can’t wait to host you and connect you with the activities which give you joy!
