A real gem! Clean, modern, well equipped and decorated, good location near restaurants, shops and bars and within driving distance of many hiking trails, parks and beaches. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.

Incredible accommodation that far surpassed all expectations. Hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. The property is luxurious with fabulous art on the walls, tons of space and great kitchen, bathroom, sitting room and bedroom. We were sorry to be staying for only 2 nights! A truly beautiful space.

This is the second time we have Stayed at the Temperance Hotel and the same room, #4. Such a wonderful place. Just feels cozy. Nice to relax then wander on foot through the town of Ladysmith. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Yes, we plan on returning again.

This hotel makes the Ladysmith weekend first rate. It is a delightful small town with more than expected - local museum and historical self guided walking tours right from the hotel’s front door. The hotel itself was super clean, and very well maintained with modern design elements that make each room special. It is a convenient local to walkable dining, coffee shops and bakery locations. Hiking and kayak rentals in area makes the location perfect for outdoor activities. Along with a great place to explore and unwind. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended, and we would happily stay here again!

The Temperance is an old hotel that has been recently renovated to retain its historic flavour but with with all the modern conveniences you would want (including A/C and laundry facilities). We were staying in the suite with two bedrooms and a full kitchen and it was perfect. Ladysmith is a very quaint town with lots of restaurants and local attractions and the Temperance is right in the middle of it all. We had a wonderful vacation and the Temperance was a big reason for it! Parking was no problem - there is a lot across the street from the hotel and we never had any trouble finding spots there, even in the middle of the "Ladysmith Days" festival over the weekend.
