Lakeside Stay

The Sunset Sanctuary is in an ideal location. The outside deck and dock are a nice place to sit and relax by the water. The house was clean and provided enough space for our party of 4. It was too cold for us to use kayaks on the water, but there was plenty of firewood provided. The host was very responsive and answered any questions we had.

Warm Winter Holiday

Escape to the lake

We thoroughly enjoyed the lakeside location, gorgeous surrounds, peaceful location and amazing cabin. Our host was amazingly kind and helpful. This was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend to everyone looking for a similar adventure!

Stunning Views

This was our second time staying at this beautiful house and we were not disappointed. This home is beautiful and cozy and extremely clean. The owners are wonderful to work with and extremely responsive. We had one small issue no fault of the owners and they responded immediately and helped us out. Once again we had a perfect stay

Amazing mom daughter fall trip

Loved looking out the back window towards the lake and seeing all of the colors of the leaves on the trees. The hot tub was amazing and was nice to enjoy after our hikes. The house was very roomy for us and awesome to be able to cook dinners. The beds were comfortable and the location worked out for us to use the house as home base and drive to Honesdale, Hawley, Jim Thorpe and the Delaware Water Gap. Two thumbs up for this rental!!

Great weekend getaway

Terrific house with amazing views. Was able to take a long weekend Getaway with the family. Kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, campfires and an amazing hot tub. Was exactly what our family needed. Definitely interested in coming back. Owners are fantastic and very responsive.

NEW YEARS GET AWAY

We spent New Years at the house with a group of close friends. The house was great! Super great beach/dock area! I'm sure it's even way better in the summer! Nice game room /hot tub on downstairs level. Flat walkout from house to water! Pet friendly a Plus!! Our host was super easy to work with. I rent many houses. This is a good one!

Serene

Lovely place on the lake. Plenty of room for 6 of us. Enjoyed daily kayaking, swimming in the lake and most of all the peace and quiet. The house was clean and had everything we needed including basic necessities. The owners were informative, attentive and thoughtful including local recs and a basket of goodies at check in. We wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Beautiful View!

House was clean, well designed, and had everything we needed for our stay (kitchen well equipped for cooking). Pictures are very accurate. Communications and instructions from the host were clear. The view of the lake is amazing and everyone in our group (including our dog!) greatly enjoyed our stay.

Our Anniversary getaway

I will start out by saying how sweet our host Christianne was; she answered all of our questions very fast. Also accommodated our needs in the house we stayed in by adding baby proofing needs which helped us immensely so we didn't have to bring a travel crib! The house and views were stunning and made our little anniversary getaway a time to remember. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Sunset Sanctuary is a beautiful Location for a family vacations

Stayed at the Sunset Sanctuary in the offseason (early April). The property is lovely with adequate accommodations for our family of six adults and their dogs (our grandpups!). As most of our family is oriented to the outdoors, the home is centrally located near many hiking trails. Yet it is fairly close to a grocery store and a hardware store for replenishment of any needed items.The home looks out onto Lake Henry and is truly situated to enjoy evening sunsets with essentially all of the rooms having lake views. While our early April visit did not allow us to fully enjoy the deck and lakeside activities, a visit during the warmer months would be enjoyable.The host was very responsive to our communications before and during our stay.

Perfect place to make memories

Lake house was clean and beautiful with a wonderful view of the lake. We made some very nice memories with our family with game night during a stormy evening to relaxing on the peaceful lake during the day with our pool floats and exploring the lake with the canoes provided. Dogs loved the lake as well! House very well equipped with all your cooking needs! Grocery store was close as well as a couple of restaurants if looking to order or eat out.

Amazing Quiet and Comfortable Family Spot

Stayed with our 4 kids (3-14) and had a blast!!! Check in and communication with host beforehand were great and the host was very responsive!! Brought our own boat and had so much fun cruising the lake and catching lots of fish!! We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and the open spaces so we could all enjoy each other. The lake was very quiet and had a small town kinda feel. The house was very clean and had all the necessities as well as ample stuff for the kids—crib, games, baby gates etc…stores for incidentals were readily accessible too!! Would def come back again…wonderful time!!!

Peaceful and Gorgeous!

Friend celebrating a friend's birthday at this gorgeous house. Private yet close to everything we needed. The kitchen was well appointed and we used the fireplace and the fire pit. Plenty of space for more than 3 women. Our host could not have been more accommodating, including mailing back an item we left behind. 10 stars just for her!!! We hope to go back again soon!

Perfectly Relaxing & Rejuvenating

A wonderful, peaceful, refreshing week! Our favorite thing was taking chairs out on the dock to watch wildlife first thing in the morning and the last thing at night. We also enjoyed using the fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. The owner thoughtfully provided a large stack of covered wood, as well a nicely stocked kitchen. The house was clean, comfortable and well situated. Communication was great and helpful information was much appreciated. Thank you!

Return to Lake Henry

We have spent 40 years vacationing on Lake Henry with the exception of four summers when our travels took us on other adventures around the country and abroad. But, no matter what new vistas we experienced Lake Henry is our absolute favorite getaway in the world. This summer was no exception when we enjoyed everything THE SUNSET SANCTUARY had to offer. A beautiful house, lacking nothing for our comfort and pleasure. The view of Lake Henry from the house or dock is the best for this gem of a private lake. The sad part was having to leave Shag-gri-La. But, in the words of MacArthur, "We shall return." Again and again, we hope. RS & family.

Absolutely Perfect!

We had a perfect stay. The communication and assistance from Christianne and Chase was second-to-none. The home was spotlessly clean, and they don't use the plug-in "air fresheners" that instantly ruin a stay for me. That's because everything actually IS clean! The beds were really comfy, and every room has its own mini-split air conditioner, so you can have your environment just the way you like it. And of course, the lake and the surroundings are gorgeous. But most important to me was the examplary communication with the hosts. That's SO important to me when I book a property, and they do everything perfectly. I would absolutely stay in their beautiful home again. Sheer perfection!

I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful trip we had! The house was beautiful and the view was something that you just need to see in person. Pictures do not do it justice. My kids loved the kayaks and paddle board. They fished whenever they wanted and I’m pretty sure my two dogs are depressed that we’re not there anymore.! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
