Welcome to the Grouse House in Lake Lure. Hurricane Helene did a number on Lake Lure. Very fortunate that Mirror Lake aka Lower Hickory Nut Lake was unscathed. Mirror Lake is in the Riverbend Community where The Grouse House is located. Mirror Lake you can swim, kayak, paddleboard and other non motorized water activities. It has a beach area for Riverbend owners and guest. There is also a walking path to the Broad River.

This beautiful Lake Lure home provides the wilderness retreat of your dreams! Under the warm North Carolina sun, play in the sand at the beach, swim in the glimmering water and relax. Fire up the provided gas grill for a delicious cookout. When you want to get out and explore the area. Other attractions nearby include Chimney Rock State Park, Dupont State Park and several golf courses.

Inside, you'll fall in love with the home's spacious living area with soft seating, a gas fireplace, and a large TV for streaming all your favorite channels using your own accounts. The adjacent kitchen is well-equipped for all your culinary ventures with its stainless steel appliances and ample meal prep space. After eating, head outside and enjoy the sweeping views from the home's very large screened porch.

As evening begins to dawn, gather around the wood firepit in the yard for campfire stories.

Sleep will come soundly as you tuck under the plush bedding in the bedrooms. Additional perks include central air-conditioning, a private washer/dryer, and board games. Shed contains all that is needed for your lake and river adventures (cooler, chairs, umbrella and water floats).

Per the website www.townoflakelure.com: Lake Use in 2025- Town Council and Town leadership are keenly aware of the importance of reopening the Lake as soon as it is safe to do so. Given the timing of the work that has been completed thus far and the need for ongoing work moving forward, it is extremely unlikely that the Lake will be able to open for the 2025 summer season. (This includes motorized and non-motorized vessels and swimming.) For those of you who have been following our storm recovery process closely, this news may not be a surprise to you. I thought it was important to share this news with you directly. Please note that Town Council and Town leadership will continue to evaluate options for opening the Lake or portions of the Lake and we will continue to keep you informed with any updates as new information becomes available.
