In so many ways it's the perfect spot. It's so beautiful and it's our new vacation home for sure but it could definitely use a new house cleaner before the next time we visit.

The stream flowing by and the old mill atmosphere near lots of great places to go in the mountains makes this the second time we’ve stayed here. Thank you.

Would absolutely rent again. Only a mile from downtown Lansing and 15-20 to West Jefferson. Only thing I wish it had was a covered outdoor space to sit and enjoy the view stream during the rain. Great place

We had a wonderful stay. The house is better than in the pictures. The fire pit and river right next to the cabin create such a nice atmosphere. My only recommendation would be to provide fire wood for the fire pit. We'll definitely be back in the future!

The cabin is a converted grain mill with modern interior -- very cool place to stay. It had plenty of sleeping space/modern kitchen and conveniences while feeling like you stepped back in time. Owner/manager communicated well and the check in/out process was very easy. Lansing, NC is a gem as well -- the "Cool Corner" of NC did not disappoint.

Loved the property over all , but needs a full length mirror, heaters in bathrooms along with hairdryers. Pictures in laundry area in very demonic looking. The water pressure was not great at all. But loved the property over all and the history.

We just stayed here for a weekend trip. The home itself really is great and unique and has the most up to date appliances. I really was so impressed with it and had no disappointments in the home itself. You can tell it is newly restored and just really has so much character. The fire pit was a big hit with our two boys (ages 7 and 10) and they even enjoyed splashing around in the creek. That part really was so relaxing, but there is not tons of lighting outside so did get very dark by the fire pit. The downside is this home sits at the bottom of the mountain and is right on the road so really no scenic views at all. The gravel driveway is a short distance down to the house from the road and you really have no view whatsoever, except for a creek in the back. Although you have a nice creek on one side, the other side is a hill of weeds that you look at and there is frequent traffic on the road. I feel like this really takes away from such a really nice house. We enjoyed our weekend there and is a great short distance to Whitetop, VA where we did the Virginia Creeper trail so it really did serve its purpose for us and we did have a very nice weekend getaway. I guess the one final bit is Lansing does not have trash service. I feel like this is something the rental company could handle with the amount you are paying for the house but instead, you must take your trash with you and deposit it at one of the trash deposit stations. Or, if you were like us, it just came home with us because the trash deposit stations would have been out of our way.

Loved that the cabin was by the creek, really enjoyed sitting outside, very relaxing!! It was really neat to see how the old mill was refurbished into a cabin, some really cool stuff inside. The town location was not good, wasn’t much in that area to do. We had to drive an hour or more to everywhere we went except for West Jefferson. The cabin was full of spider webs, floor to ceiling, when we arrived, as if cleaning crew cleaned after previous guests left but there was no touch up before we arrived. There was a dead animal somewhere in the kitchen/laundry area. We were never able to find it so we had that smell the entire stay. Also, there were visible rat pellets on the bathroom floor. Items left behind by others, such as a pacifier, ponytail holder, trash, were between the master bed and the night stand., very nasty! The mattress sagged on both sides, and the sheets were extremely pilled up. Every time we took a shower in the master bathroom, it leaked over the kitchen island/bar beneath, we had to leave several bowls out all week to catch the water, which we reported to the realtor. The furniture was very uncomfortable!! Not a good place at all to relax inside the cabin!!

Enjoyed our visit at the clark mill. We wanted a place not too far from grayson highlands state park, we were lucky and saw ponies the day we went. We had a lovely weather week and it was very nice sitting outside on the deck and also using the firepit near the water.

We had a wonderful time at this unique property! The kids loved the fact they could ride the small river right behind the mill, not to mention the peaceful sound of the river. The location is great also... close to Grayson Highlands and the Virginia Creeper Trail. Will be staying here again!

Three generations together for a delightful adventure in the mountains. This upscale historic mill provided fun and comfort. The architectural designS were intriguing. The setup of the bedrooms worked really well for us. Grandparents had the primary , son and his wife, the other. The kids loved the bunks that connected to their parent’s room with a door they could close between. The kitchen appliances were top notch. The setting is stunning! We enjoyed the fire pit, outside dining space, and comfortable deck seating. The tv’s upstairs could not be operated though we tried. Bring everything you need to cook ie foil, coffee filters, salt etc. A few more hand towels would have been helpful too. Otherwise we loved our stay.

We had a great stay at the Mill house. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and dining in. It was decorated comfortably and beautifully. We especially enjoyed the creek and the constant sound of the water. Our only issue (and it is minor) is that we were constantly finding stink bugs in the house during our stay. Other than that, we had no complaints.
This property is amazing, what a good find we enjoyed the creek with a view from nearly every window. Located close to restaurants and the new river for our kayak runs. The place is unique, a nice mix of old and modern. Stocked well and comfortable.

Very unusual property in a quiet and very pretty setting by a creek. Quiet, relaxing, comfortable and located near many different activities. Owner has done a fantastic job of restoring and renovating this historic property.
