Great somewhat central location. We went 40 mins to Spearfish 1 day and 40 minutes the other way to Hill city another day.

Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Kitchen had all we needed to prepare some of our meals. Hot tub is always a nice addition after hiking and exploring all day. Clean, comfortable and private. Would stay again!

Aaron's Aspen Retreat 2023

Had a wonderfull week. Centrally located to so many activities, yet quiet and private. Had deer in the yard morning and evening every day. The view off the back deck is Awsome. Thank You for a fantastic week.

It was good! They were communicative throughout the whole process. Hot take b did not get very warm would be my only negative comment.Otherwise it had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay for our family of 6 plus an infant.

The pro’s - House has room for multiple visitors, kitchen had ample supplies, and the hot tub was a nice perk! The con’s - House is dated and the satellite (TV) service constantly buffers. Overall clean and quiet.

Birthday present

What do you get a mother who need nothing for her birthday? My mother has never been on a true vacation and has always wanted to go to the hills, so to keep my favorite child status(lol) I took her on vacation to the hills and it was everything she wanted and more. Our cabin was beyond perfect and mom is already planning our ne t trip for next year.

Aspen Retreat Aug 2022 Stay

The yard was not cut at all upon arriving; though once reported management weed-eated around the entryway which was much appreciated. The hot tub was not cleaned but again management when contacted sent someone out right away to drain it and clean it so we only missed one night of our stay enjoying the hot tub. The area was very peaceful and the deck/hot tub/grill were enjoyed every day we were there. It was a perfect get-a-way located right outside Lead, and Deadwood only 10 min's away.

Nice place with a few caveats

The location is beautiful, just very noisy with new construction going on all around it. The house had what we needed for our stay, but the hot tub was not working properly during our stay. This was disappointing because that was one of the main reasons that we chose the property. The management company did not close the loop with us regarding getting the hot tub fixed, but overall this place was decent.

Could use some updates

We stayed for a long weekend. Development was a mix of older & newer homes, only a short walk to Deer Mountain Ski resort, and convenient to Lead, Deadwood, Spearfish & Spearfish Canyon. Master bed was comfortable (the only one we slept in), kitchen had most items needed for cooking meals, and water pressure in shower was strong…all pluses. Unfortunately, there were several things that are about at the end of their life-the microwave has a cracked door frame which results in the handle coming loose if you don’t pull near the very top, a couple hot tub jets (above water line) were duct taped over, and interior lighting in general was poor/low. Be aware that BR #3 is actually downstairs and you have to go through the unheated garage to reach it-young kids probably wouldn’t like that. The washer & dryer look brand new (front load) but they are also on the other side of the garage. Carpets are pretty threadbare but clean.
