Loved staying here. The charm and history was amazing. Bob went above and beyond for us with drinks and snacks in the kitchen. Along with extra towels, blankets etc. Breakfast was amazing and well priced, staff was super friendly and so knowledge about history of property.

The owner, Bob is a wonderful person! The only complaint we had was we asked for more K-cups and they never replenished them. Otherwise, an excellent place to stay!!!

We didn't receive a code to access our room. The building was deserted. We ended up having to make a late booking at a hotel close by. The owner tried to make contact the next day and offered a free stay but it was too late.

This was an extremely odd place to stay for several reasons. The pictures and the exceptional rating were very misleading. The free “breakfast” was do it yourself with an open jug of orange juice and sour milk. What bothered us especially was the fact that we could not lock our door from the inside. It was accessed by a passcode that probably remained the same for who knows how long and the deadbolt to the outside door had been previously busted in. Strange place.

The Blue "Hearst" Suite was such a treat. Loved the historic decor throughout. Bob's welcome & special attention was so much fun - and interesting. We biked a chunk of the Mickelson Trail early the next morning, and then came back to enjoy a delicious meal in the wonderfully eclectic Saloon/Restaurant. One of the more memorable times in our wanderings in the Black Hills.

Rooms are unique, gorgeous, clean, spacious and comfortable. Communal kitchenette and mini fridge in the room are very convenient. Amazing location and views. Very attentive and kind owners. Check in and check out is incredibly easy.

This was a fabulous place to stay. Leads is a much more interesting place to stay than Deadwood, which is close enough by to get a fabulous lunch ( the restaurant above Saloon #10 was terrific for lunch today). But back to Leads, the two room suite above the restaurant was so nice and the restaurant food below was delicious! Leads is the home of a huge historic gold mine- take the tour at the mining museum ( enjoyed by all ages) and discover its current use at 5700 feet below surface - one of only three scientific sites studying dark matter and neutrinos. No- you can’t go down there! But the visitor center has a lot of good info about it and views of the enormous pit mine that preceded the 7500 foot deep gold mine!
