I greatly enjoyed my weekend getaway. Al was very professional and polite and even upgraded my room. It was very clean and I loved the aesthetic of the hotel. It felt like staying at a relatives house. It is located in nature and I experienced being within a few feet of deers on the property, which was a beautiful sight. I will definetly be back.

Dated but Charming

I think this was an old lake resort. The exterior is in disrepair, the pool is out of commission, and the decore is dated to the point of quirky. But, the staff is friendly, the room was immaculate, and it has an overall charm that we thoroughly enjoyed. My only recommendation would be for more pillows... there aren't enough on the bed to prop yourself up to watch TV.

Room felt like a very comfortable studio apartment. Staff were very nice and it was super quiet for most of my stay. The only downside was the power went out for 29 hours and there was no water or power to the room. It was outside their control but they provided updates as they got them. Didn't get compensation or anything for that part of my stay and couldn't afford anywhere else to stay remotely warm. It was great otherwise.

This was an old resort with terrible conditions. No food no elevator and one employee. We decided not to stay and requested a refund which was denied. The advertisement and promotion for this place is a sham.

Lodging seekers beware and make sure you bring a UV light to check for left over body fluids as well as a flashlight for bedbugs. Do not, I say again, do not think that the main photo on Expedia is anything like was is actually in place nor do the room photos look anything like what I walked into. This place is worst than a dive, no proper check in procedures, note on the door says to call ABC person who then would contact XYZ (allowed me to check in an hour early). As soon as I entered the room, allergies kicked in, dusty, musty, outdated to say the least. I spent less than 20 minutes on the property and promptly left, of course no refund; even had Expedia try to help without luck. If you want a nice place for an hour romp in the hay with your sweety, this place is for you, if you want a place to relax for a couple of days, steer clear, find alternate lodging. The negative reviews are spot on, you have been warned.

Everything was good, but the hotel was dated and will look really nice once they are able to renovate it. We couldn't beat the price for attending a concert at Mohegan Sun. I couldn't see paying $400+ for the hotels closer to Mohegan Sun. The Grand Lake Hotel was worth the cost we paid.

Expedia had the wrong check-in time. The real time is 3pm. Some buildings on the large property are not in great shape, thought they are not in use currently. It seems they are working on refurbishing some of them. I look forward to visiting again to see how they turn out. Security is good, with cameras in public areas, keycards for entry into the buildings, and codes to get into rooms.
