You can also buy your fish on the beach directly from the fishermen, a tradition known as Arte Xávega, with sharp-prowed and brightly colored boats, which advance through the waves by oars, to cast the nets and do the fishing chores.
Located between dunes and pine forests, Praia do Pedrógão is famous for the unusual properties of iodine, the unique smell of sea air on the entire coast, of fresh and salty foam, which bathes an extensive clean golden sand, ideal for long walks. This beach, which has the “Accessible Beach” flag, reveals excellent conditions for surfing, considering that it is an open beach, easily exposed to different types of waves, which allows the formation of several “beach breaks”.
On this small beach, there is a traditional market where you can find a wide variety of fresh fish, vegetables, and fruits.
