“I travelled to the Tourotel expecting the worst given a lot of the reviews, and was pleasantly surprised and can only suggest those giving such poor reviews haven't stayed in ski accommodation before or hadn't looked at any of the photos.
Yes it's basic (as are most ski accommodations), but they are well equipped (I've attached the inventory of the 2 bed apartment), and the mountain facing balcony rooms have the best view of any accommodation I've stayed in the alps.

“Nous avons passé une très belle semaine au logement le Marmotton. Joseph a été très réactif concernant les demandes diverses que nous avons pu lui faire, dont l’arrivée assez libre. Le logement est très fonctionnel et très bien optimisé. Il possède toutes les prestations dont nous avions besoin et sont de belle qualité. Le chalet est aménagé avec goût et possède une vue magnifique. Emplacement calme et charmant. Merci!”

“We were a group of 2 families consisting of 2 adults and 2 children. We were given rooms next to each other on level 2 which was perfect. No need to get in the lifts in the morning to get to the slopes. The room had everything we needed and had much more space than I thought we would get. The beds and sofa bed was comfortable as were the pillow. We never used any of the facilities on site so can't comment on those but thought the location for us was great having a children in ski school in the……

“This was the nicest apartment we have stayed in, in Val Thorens and one of the best apartments we have stayed in, in any ski resort. We needed 3 proper bedrooms for our family plus 2 grandparents. Ski apartments are small but this one had plenty of storage, was very well appointed and warm, and had very nice bathroom which made the stay very comfortable. "Very good 5 stars ski resort hotel with ski in ski out access. It has three restaurants.
The staff in reception, restaurants and ski room are very friendly, particularly James, Nathan and Laurence in ski room and are really helpful.
The room is spacious enough for two people.
The breakfast is good and beside the buffet, I have eggs choic and coffee. It is a great start before heading to the slope."
