The location of this property is very convenient for an early flight, and we had an excellent meal and great service in their restaurant. I also had a great experience with one of the front desk staff who assisted us with bike storage and checked us in. Unfortunately the air conditioner in our room was not cooling things off; I called the front desk to ask if the thermostat was locked and they said no (although it did have a lock icon illuminated). The technician they sent worked to correct the problem but the temperature did not go down. It stayed between 23 and 23.5, which is too warm for us - we prefer to keep the room around 22. When we let the front desk know, the person on duty was not friendly or helpful - he said the hotel was full, the system was doing all it could and we could not expect it to go below 22. I told him I would be very happy with 22. The temperature in the restaurant and the other common areas was much cooler. We left the door to the hallway open for a while hoping some cool air would come in but no luck. We were in Spain for 20 days and didn't have this problem at any other accommodation; I believe the air conditioner was low on refrigerant. For that reason, and the unfriendliness of the attendant and his unwillingness to offer a solution, we cannot give this hotel a good rating.

I am a frequent traveler and my experience with Barcelo Sants Hotel was absolutely horrible. While the hotel location is great and the lobby looks cool, my wife and I were not able to sleep for two out of our three nights of our stay. The AC stopped working day 2, we contacted front desk, reported it and headed out. They said it will be fixed by the time we’re back. We came back to a boiling temp in the room, we called again and they sent maintenance which replaced the filter and said it should be working shortly. It didn’t. We called again and they said maintenance left for the day and there’s nothing they can do since they have no vacancy. Next morning we talked to them again and they said the same thing, it will be fixed by the time we’re back. Same as the day before we came back and the room was still boiling. We went downstairs and talked to them and they said they will reset it remotely and we should wait for it to kick in. It didn’t. We called again and they said maintenance had left already. Two nights in a row without sleep. They gave us a small super loud fan to blow hot air at us. It felt like sleeping in an air fryer. The night shift front desk told us it’s a problem with their building AC and many rooms are in the same situation. We checked out next morning at 5;30 AM we couldn’t take it anymore. They knew exactly what the issue was and kept stalling. NEVER staying in this hotel again and absolutely do not recommend it. They simply don’t care.
