True Waterfront!
This house in on the water, with a private beach. Sit on the patio and hear the waves and watch the boats go by. Very nice! The home has a large kitchen that is very well stocked. Clean house, Good location, quiet neighbors. The host is very responsive and friendly.

Very nice place !!
My girlfriend and I we had a very nice stay , the weather for 2 of our days was very hot and just right to sit by the water , But Sat was really windy and chilly, but we live in Mich. LOL!! LOL!! needs some updating !! But would rent this place again !!

Great Getaway!
We've stayed at the property 3 times and look forward to it every year. The owner also recently replaced some things in the home and it was a welcomed change. The seawall was also repaired and the kids had a great time on the beach. We look forward to returning next year! The only downside was there was no cookie sheet (lol) so I bought one and left it there for future renters!

Loved our weekend at Blue Skies!
This was a Sister's vacation - 3 of us stayed at the cottage and one came up from Detroit for a day. We were all blown away by the view, the sunrises, the comfort. The cottage has lots of room for sleeping, talking, eating, hanging out. We spent one day in our pj's out back until noon! The cottage is from, I'm guessing the 60's. Could it be updated? Sure, but it was just fine for us. If you're expecting something out of House Beautiful (showing our age) this isn't for you, go look somewhere else - and pay for it. We stayed 3 nights and besides making sandwiches one day we drove into town for take out for the rest of our meals. No shortage of good food in Lexington! Diane called me a couple weeks before our visit to make sure we were clear on everything. Instructions for just about everything were written and placed around the cottage, so there was no confusion about what was expected of us. If we decide to vacation on Lake Huron again, we'll come back here. We heartily recommend staying at this cottage!

Lexington cottage on the Lake
A true summer cottage. Clean enough, mostly comfortable older furniture, bring your own towels and bed linens and a very nice swing for two overlooking the water. Good size back property with fire pit. Would have been nice to have a ladder to get down to the beach/water instead of climbing down the breakwater (looks like there is part of an old one there). We were there for a long relaxing September weekend and it was fine for us.

I'm sorry I have to write this review.....
This cottage was by far the the filthiest property I have ever stayed at. We knew that It was an "old" cottage and we were totally expecting that, but I'm quite sure that the property hadn't been cleaned in months, if ever. Dirt and Grime embedded on the floors, the walls, the windows, the fireplace area, bathroom, every part of the whole entire cottage. The windows wouldn't even stay open without a wooden stick that had to be used to prop them up. The kitchen window was filled with bugs and actually had papertowel stuck in the gigantic hold that was in the screen to "try" to keep the bugs out. Every appliance was old, corroded, and pretty much useless.The bathroom was just as bad, the floors were not just a filthy mess but falling apart and crumbling all around the shower. The first thing I did was clean the toilet when we got there. The bedrooms were horrible and they smelled of a nasty stench. The outside beach area was a mess. Tons of bricks and a seawall falling down. Totally unsafe and I would consider that a hazzard for anyone that went near it. I was told that an older person owns this house and that she is renting it out with the help of others. If she is paying any kind of cleaning fees, or any other fees, she is getting scammed. We were charged a cleaning fee, like i said - THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THIS HOUSE WAS EVER CLEANED. I would ask for my cleaning deposit back, but i just don't have the time to argue about it. Again, I am really am sorry to leave this review, but is is by far the worst place i have ever stayed in. Everything from the kitchen to the bedrooms, to the living area, to the back/front yard was a disaster. A total mess. We also have pictures.

Lake House
We had fun. Family had not been together in too long. Access to water was difficult. Home is getting run down and may have not been cleaned at all prior to arrival. Owner was very accessible, cordial and accommodating

Family summer getaway
Nice property with plenty of yard to enjoy. Had a campfire every night. Can swim in front of seawall on most days - big surf on certain wind conditions would prevent swimming given the high water. Overall, the place was clean and provides for a great place for a family summer getaway. Owner provided clear and timely communications. No beach because of high water but swimming opportunities were available on most days. Only real complaint was the high water levels of the lake which could prevent a swimming opportunity if the winds are right. If Lake levels subside or even stay the same would definitely consider returning as everyone in the family enjoyed the place.

nice property but beach not kid friendly
The waterfront was quite deep very close to the beginning of the water. There was also no sand for kids. Neighbors were nice. There is no wifi and cellphone reception is poor. This cottage does not come with linen which was very inconvenient, since we missed that info when we booked. Overall had a nice time, but bedrooms are small and a little clastraphobic.... Just be prepared. Kitchen and livingroom ok. There is a nice yard in the back for kids to play ball with a basketball hoop. We enjoyed ourselves in the end, but a little disappointed with beach situation... Plus the beach is not really private like it says. The neighbors are very close.

Great beach and location. Diane and her husband responded promptly to a small problem at the cottage and personally came to make sure everything was resolved. And she even came with a pan of rice crispie treats! Our family had a wonderful time!

Awesome holiday weekend with the family, huge yard, fun beach, felt like I was borrowing a family-members home instead of renting from a stranger. I way over-packed as anything I needed was there. Love the neighborhood, off the main road so safe to go for a walk or ride bikes.

Watching the sunrise from the deck at the beach and the moon rise while around the fire pit are so beautiful and memorable. On a clear night you may also see the lights on the Blue Water Bridge. Happy you found the perfect place to relax. Thank you for sharing your visit .

Great lakefront place!
Great place, all in all. Pros: great owner; easy access off M25; dead quiet; great yard; great access to the lake with small beach to swim and nice bluff to watch the boats; spacious bedrooms; large kitchen with fireplace; huge sun room facing the lake with binoculars and telescope provided (come on! awesome!); outdoor shower is perfectly great idea-- I could see using this to get all the sand off the kids and warm them up after swimming; ample patio furniture by the patio, by the fire pit and down by the water Cons: TV service is a bit lackluster (just a small package on Dish Network); no internet service and cell service with AT&T is pretty lousy at this location-- no wait! both of those should be in the pros section because I had more time to enjoy the scenery!

Great Vacation
We had exceptional weather, but there was plenty of room if we had to be inside. The community rooms were large with comfortable seating. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook for your group.
