Welcome to Moonlight Cove!

Tired of the city noise.... come visit your inner peace in our 3 bedroom, 2 bath home at the end of our cove at High Rock Lake. Enjoy an acre of land gently sloping only steps from the water and all the amenities you could wish for in our home away from home! Perfect for a couples or family vacation. Our comfy master bedroom features a king sized bed, flat screen TV, cable and private attached bathroom with stall shower. The second bedroom has a comfy queen size sleigh bed, flat screen TV with cable. The third bedroom has 4 twins (2 trundle beds). Rest on the most comfortable double size pull out couch in our large family sun room. Enjoy the living room with Flat screen TV and Roku to yourself or sit in the family sun room on the recliner and enjoy the 65 inch smart TV that offer tons of apps and a Roku (just bring your passwords) for your viewing pleasure, also included is Wi-Fi. If that doesn't suit your fancy, for that possibility of rain, enjoy our selection of novels, games, and dvd's. We have a small office area looking out on the lake for those of us who can't seem to get away from work that includes a printer/scanner. For convenience, a small bait fridge in the kitchen, a drink mini fridge and a 25 lbs per day ice machine are installed in the family sun room.... no more trips to the store every day for ice! The entire back of the house gives an exceptional view of the lake and the beautiful sunsets it offers. Enjoy some water time by docking your boat on our dock (Marina and boat launches are practically right around the corner) or use our complimentary paddle boat and kayaks. Enjoy time by stretching out on our sandy beach or watch the kids build sandcastles. Throw out a line and catch catfish, perch, crappie or bass (known to hang around our cove) straight from the dock. At night, enjoy smores by the fire pit down by the water. Put the pups to bed in our cozy, orthopedic dog beds, enjoy time with family and friends, relax and soak in the peacefulness that is this little treasure. Plenty of parking for everyone, including boat trailers. No kitty's, please. Must provide proof of current vaccinations and flea prevention.

We had the best time!! Absolutely loved the house. Everything was perfect for a little weekend away. The host had great communication. And the pictures do not do the house any justice. It was very cute and quaint but perfect size for a family. We really enjoyed having the dock when we rented a pontoon so we could come by and grab lunch while on the boat. Definitely would come back again!!!

Girls Get-Away!

Every year I plan a 3-4 night stay at a VRBO on High Rock lake, that is dog friendly…not just accepts dogs. This was the perfect stay! Not only is it nice, it’s comfy casual & fully equipped to welcome you & your fur-babies. Plenty of sleeping options, ample seating, all the amenities and little extras you could want in a lake-rental. Great little beach access and good outdoor seating, lots of shade & sun too! Being on the cove keeps it quiet, yet still have access to see activity on the water too! Lee was super helpful, accommodating and responsive too! Highly recommend this place for family, girls weekend away or even just you & your pups! Will definitely return.

Wonderful place to hang out and really enjoy

We had a great time on this property. It was an amazing lake front home. It was great and comfortable. The place was well setup for hanging out. It is obvious you would have a great time fishing on the lake if that is what you do. I would greatly recommend this place to stay.

Wonderful Christmas at the lake!

We had a wonderful time at this sozy cottage with my in-laws and our elderly dogs. The property was clean, conveniently located to the family we were visiting, and well appointed! Having the kitchen items and a new washer and dryer was a great bonus. The bedrooms were quiet and the mattresses were so comforting at the end of a long day. Can't wait to return!

Vacation 2023

This was our third time visiting the lake, the first time bringing both our dogs. The property itself is AMAZING. We appreciated the numerous trash cans located at various spots, all of the seating available, and how they have the dock area set up. The area itself is away from the main drag, quiet, and clean. Inside, the house was CLEAN, smelled great, and was VERY well stocked. The trash compactor and bait fridge are a great touch. We also LOVED the fact the owners are very much dog people, and have dog beds, bowls, and blankets for dogs of any size. I wish it wouldve been in the listing for the property that the owners would like animals not to be on furniture. Our dogs werent having any of that, and i wouldve brought more sheets from home to help cover the couches better. Overall - We throughly enjoyed, and will definetely be wanting to stay again!!

Fully stocked AND an ice maker!

The lake is the absolute best feature. While not clear it was clean and warm. The kitchen is fully stocked. The only drawback was no garbage disposal. We absolutely loved this trip and would absolutely come back!

Charming property

Nice clean property with the important details

We went for a girls weekend with my mom and my sisters. There was something for everyone. My sister the couch potato who likes to make baby blankets, my sister the adventure who liked to kayak and go on walks, and me the chef who liked cooking on the firepit and my mom who tried it all.

Perfect for families!

We had 5 adults snd two children and had plenty of space. The outdoor area is spectacular! Kitchen has all dishes and appliances you need. Ice maker and extra be beverage fridge were a plus. Enjoyed our stay!!

What a great surprise!!!! This place was so awesome. We enjoyed the incredible views every morning along with our coffee. The kids absolutely loved swimming right at the boat dock. The beds were so comfortable. Our family highly recommends this property for those special one of a kind memories.

Just the getaway we needed

The cottage is neat as a pin and had everything we could have needed. Super comfy beds and a giant tv for the game. The property and surroundings are peaceful with great water access. We fished and lounged with evening outdoor fires and sunsets. Short drives to Salisbury and Lexington for great BBQ and quaint shops. Our favorite part is the owner’s obvious love of dogs and the pirate flag out front. We would book again without hesitation. Thanks for the great visit.

No Smoking?

Pros: Moonlight cove has a great yard for hanging out by the lake. Plenty of outdoor seating, kayaks, paddle boat, and corn hole boards on the property. The house is well stocked with movies, games towels/linens, and kitchen accessories. Pet friendly with several dog beds available. Cons: One of the house policies limits smoking to outside only however, the house had such a strong odor from excessive smoking inside that my asthmatic daughter and her husband bought a tent and sleeping bags to sleep outside after the first night. We spent several hours the second day trying to eliminate the odor with not much success. My daughters and wife wound up washing all the bed linens on day three. That helped a lot, but it still didn't eliminate the odor. In fact, all of our luggage and clothing had absorbed the smell so we didn't fully get escape it until we got home and washed everything that was exposed to it. If you are not sensitive to residual cigarette smoke, then this is a great place to spend some relaxing time by the water.
