“The property was in a nice family neighborhood, with friendly helpful neighbors, and a gorgeous view that was accurate as shown in the photos. We loved El Castillo overall. The host advertised this via Expedia as "Entire place - You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party" and that is what I expected we were reserving and paying for. We got there and found it was 2 separate studio rentals on levels 1 and 2 of the house. The landlady was nice……

“Overall, the stay was good. There were a few discrepancies between the listing and actual property. The most important being that there was no air conditioner but instead an evaporative cooler which doesn’t really cool down the house, especially the bedrooms. There were quite a bit of insects, especially ants and flies but it’s Costa Rica so kind of expected. It could use some ant traps in the house and a fly swatter. Property is beautiful. “Kids voted this the best place we stayed! They enjoyed having their own private mezzanine complete with bean bags and games. We enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings. Basic supplies like coffee and cooking oil provided do you can easily self cater. ”

“Clean and safe location. Located near all of the tourist activities but quite far from town and would require a vehicle. Host was wonderful to communicate with, hot water stopped working and it was fixed within minutes by staff. Overall excellent stay I would book again.”
