“There aren't a lot of hotels in this area so your options are limited. The hotel is very dated and some things haven't been updated in many years. But you could tell they made an effort to clean. The window was cracked and the bathroom floor tile was cracked. The ceiling light was on a timer so it kept turning off. But the sheets seem clean and there was no indication of any bug activity. “We were never able to check in. We arrived at the motel at 6:30pm. No one was available to check us in. There was a sign posted outside the office saying that check in was only from 3 to 4pm. We lost the money we had paid for the room, and had to find another hotel to stay in. A drug addict who was staying in one of the rooms was wandering around in the parking lot. He scared my wife.”

The location of this hotel is an absolute gem. It’s incredibly close to everything you need—a Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Jewel-Osco, Starbucks, gas stations, Gurnee Mills, and Six Flags are all within seconds to 20 minutes away. Most importantly, the naval base is only about 12 minutes out.
The facility and our room were clean overall, though the hallways and our room had a noticeably damp, tangy, smoky odor……
