No free wifi!
I am very mad there was no FREE wifi whereas my booking show free WiFi. The reception say Public area is free but I cannot get any data. I then signed up as Marriott member just to get free WiFi in my room but again, I logged in but no data. This is not and should not be the standard of any decent hotel let alone the Marriott! Very disappointed. I have an extra day in Lisbon and I have chosen to switch hotel for real WiFi. Sad! I am trying Carlton Marriott in Madrid tonight (2019.02.04), hope there is real wifi connection!

Got given twin bedroom even though it was a king bed booking. Marriott refused to help and said only way to resolve was to pay for an upgrade. Not very helpful the front desk staff

Já ficamos varias vezes. Desta vez falta de variedade no pequeno almoço. Muito pouca fruta, pouca variedade de pão e ovos mexidos pouco cozinhado. Em geral falta de reposição no pequeno almoço. Outra particularidade é a presença de tomarem pequeno-almoço almoço em pijama. Em princípio não voltamos a ficar, mesmo tendo ficado sempre à muitos anos.

The concierge and bellmen were extremely helpful. Their was some construction going on above us that was irritating. We were in room 741 and it didn’t stop until after 7pm —so a nap was out of the question but otherwise it was fantastic

改修工事が朝9時から夜7時過ぎまで毎日行われている。チェックイン時にそのことを伝えられてなかったため、あまりの騒音に驚いてすぐにフロントへ行った。ルームオーガナイザーがとても親切で上の階や工事していない隣のタワーを案内してくれたが、どこの部屋でも騒音は避けられないようだった。部屋に長時間滞在する人にはお勧めできない。

The Marriott Lisbon is well run. The staff is very professional and friendly. It has been so nice that many staff members show excitement towards our dog. It is refreshing to vacation in a place that makes travel living travel.

Better options in Lisbon
Unfortunately we were not satisfied with our one night stay at the Marriott Location. We had some troubles at the time of the check in and also during checkout we were asked to pay for our stay where it was already paid at the time of the booking. The hotel also did not have any warm or hot water and taking a cold shower was not something we expected at a Marriott Property.

The bathroom needs to be upgraded and the shower shutter needs to be changed as it can be unsafe for older people as the shutter swings and there is no stability or support. It would be better to have a plastic shower curtain.

Since our flight reaches early in the morning, we had booked and paid for the room from the previous day. Plus we had sent a message to the hotel (via expedia) informing them about the early morning flight. Yet when we reached the hotel, they had given away our room and so we had to wait in a temporary room for several hours till our room became available in the afternoon. The hotel did not even offer a refund for the room.

Shakedown: At check-in I was asked if I was interested in a “newly remodeled room” (not an UPGRADE to a larger room) for an additional €75 per night. They had the same room available but in better condition, but it would cost me an extra €300 for my stay. Disrepair/mold (pictures): o Moisture damage in the bathroom door jams, wood rot and black mold o Instead of fixing the issue they have painted over wood rot many times o Bathroom door doesn’t latch closed; desk said they would send someone up to repair – no one ever showed up and door remained broken our entire stay o The shower curtain hadn’t been changed in a while, soap scum film buildup at the bottom Disrupted Cable (video): o 1/3 of all stations didn’t work, 2/3 of all other channels worked fine, came in “crystal clear” o Technician came to fix a “loose” connection and we lost more channels o Hotel desk then called up and said entire building is having trouble with some channels (lied) o Lobby televisions had crystal clear reception on channels we had interrupted signals Worn out (picture): o Towels were beyond “shelf-life”; scratchy and non-absorbent o Bathroom was 70’s motif with cracked tiles and chipped tiles Electrical issues: o Outlets heated up our converter adapters to the point we didn’t charge our devises; we stayed at 3 other accommodations in Europe without this issue
