Elk Point Cabin offers a peaceful and private setting just 10 minutes from Main Street in Livingston Manor. Nestled on a quiet hillside off a low-traffic road, the home feels secluded—especially in the summer months when the trees are full and neighboring homes are barely visible. It’s the perfect balance of countryside serenity with easy access to shops, dining, and Catskills adventures nearby.
Guests will access the cabin through a keypad on the main door on the large front porch.
Off a quiet back road and just two hours from NYC, you'll find our cabin by way of a dirt driveway that runs along our sprawling front yard. Transit in the area can be limited, so we always recommend having a car if possible.
For guests without a vehicle, Dara’s Upstate D-Tours is our go-to car service—reliable and familiar with the area.
You can also take the ShortLine Bus from NYC to Monticello, then arrange a pickup through Upstate D-Tours for the 30-minute drive to the cabin.
Let us know if you need help coordinating—happy to assist!
1. Wildlife Is Part of the Charm
You may spot deer, turkeys, or even the occasional fox roaming the lawn—just one of the many perks of mountain life! Sometimes you’ll notice droppings outside; they’re harmless and actually great for the soil. Welcome to the countryside!
2. Pet-Friendly, With a Few Ground Rules
We’re happy to welcome your furry companions! Just a few requests:
Please keep pets off the furniture and beds.
No pets left home alone or closed in rooms—it can be stressful for them and tough on the house.
If you’re heading out without them, consider a local pet-sitter or bring a crate if needed.
3. Respect the Quiet
Sound travels easily in the mountains—please keep outdoor noise to a minimum, especially at night, so everyone can enjoy the peace and stargazing.
4. Fire Pit Use
Feel free to enjoy the fire pit out back! Just be sure to fully extinguish it before turning in for the night and follow all local burn safety guidelines.
5. Country Living Essentials
This is a well-loved cabin in a natural setting—please treat it kindly. You may encounter the occasional bug, cobweb, or pine needle. It’s all part of being tucked away in nature!
