The setting is breathtaking over the gorge and the accommodation private and unique. Gets cold in winter!

5 stars for the staff, the view and the pets
It is the staff (among others, Dixon and John) who makes the stay a unique experience, away from crowded tourist hotels and rip-off places. John and Dixon made it even possible to host our driver free of charge, although it was told us at reservation that they will charge him fully. Thank you guys. Of course, it is quite a drive from Livingstone. An own driver is highly recommended, because every drive is charged st $27 per person into town. Make sure they dont charge the driver. We have been travelling through whole africa, and it was never the case that our driver was charged. All in all: An amazing experience if you a ready to accept the fact that in the bush not everything will always run smoothly. Although you pay 200$ + for the room dont expect a five star experience from the facilities. The only five star experiences are the view, the staff, Whiskey (the cat) and Tessa (the dog).
Amazing lodge, great view over the gorge. It is a bit further out of town, but so quiet and relaxed. Chalets are amazingly decorated and clean! Dedicated Staff, Thanks Guys!
Amazing view in the middle of an oasis! The staff and the owners make this place so extraordinary great and makes you feel home at any time! Thanks for the time we could spent at your nice lodge guys!
Having read other reviews of this property, we arrived with high expectations. We were sadly disappointed. Apart from its breathtaking location on the edge of the Batoka gorge with stunning views of the Zambezi flowing 1200m below, this lodge has very little left to offer. The lodge is reached by a 45 minute drive along very rough dirt roads (at $27 per person) – this makes getting to and from, arduous and inconvenient, although there was always a driver on standby and the staff were very willing to assist. In its heyday, it must have been beautiful, but one gets the feeling that absolutely no maintenance or deep cleaning of any description has taken place in the last decade. From the cobweb laced lamps, to the cracked concrete floors and the cushions worn thin by use, this was all a little too rustic for us! The chalets are unusual in their construction – made of wooden poles (droppers) with thatched roofs, they have an opening of about 40cm all the way around. meaning that there is a constant breeze blowing through the room. In winter, this would be unbearable. Hendrik, our resident host, tried his best but even his best efforts made it difficult to ignore the lack of staff training (our drinks were served in their bottles, without glasses); the mediocre food (with microwaved puddings reminiscent of boarding school) and the shabby accommodation. This property needs a major upgrade to make it remotely comparable with even the most basic lodges in Southern Africa.

Very friendly! Thanks so much for a very nice visit.
The road to get to the hotel is difficult but once you are there it is all worth it!
First and foremost, if one wants to experience Africa then Taita - Falcon Lodge is definitely a place to visit and or stay.
The location and views are spectacular and unsurpassed whilst the silence of the African night remains peaceful beyond words. Taita Lodge exudes Africa in every way, it seems isolated, yet so close to civilization - Livingstone, Victoria Falls, shops, chemists, restaurants, hospitals and Airport.
The lodge is built like non other. Spotlessly clean, tidy with service that most dream about. The rooms are as close to Tribal Africa as one can get yet, the necessary comforts are firmly in place.
Built on the edge of the gorge and overlooking "rapid 17 - double trouble" on the mighty Zambezi River some 270 meters below. One catch watch the infamous "White Water Rafters" passing through this rapid each day and see various species of Eagles soaring above in the gorge.
Everything is 5 star without the "glitz and glamour" and we will definitely be returning.
