Nice Get-Away for Our Family
I was holding our review until we got our $1500 damage deposit returned; VRBO says it can take 14 days; it's now day 13. I've never had to deal with this before but it sounds like a VRBO issue since the host said she gave the "all clear" as soon as we left.
We stayed with our two adult kids as a family reunion to visit our son who moved to LA earlier this year. I was happy to find this VRBO with a "new listing" discount in the Malibu hills. It was just the right distance to feel like you were "away from it all" but still only twenty minutes away from beaches, grocery stores, and restaurants. The unit was a perfect size for us. We especially enjoyed the covered patio off the master bedroom for some afternoon "chillaxing" time.
Since it was listed as a new listing, there were some issues that can be improved to make it a 5-star review: the main thing would be to make customers aware ahead of time that there isn't cell service at the property and we hadn't been made aware of the WiFi password ahead of time. That made for kind of a tense first night but in the morning we drove "down the hill" and once we hit cell service we were able to reach the host and get the WiFi password promptly.
Some basic missing amenities were quickly resolved by reaching out to the host. We also weren't aware that this was a multi-unit structure; I didn't go back to verify the VRBO listing but I'm sure I searched for "houses."
Despite the few little issues, we greatly enjoyed our stay!
