Nice, close to everything
My mom and sisters spent a relaxing weekend here to celebrate mom’s 60 th birthday. Overall it was nice, beds were comfortable, and the communication with the owners was great! The only reason for 4 stars is, I think it could use a deep clean, however it wasn’t filthy, and I would recommend it.

Perfect space for a weekend getaway
The house was better than the pictures and exactly what we needed. The A frame space and living room are roomy enough to allow teens/older kids to gather for board games and hanging out. The bedrooms were good sized. The property was beautiful and secluded.

Fantastic vacation
We can’t say enough good things about the owners, first and foremost being how incredible it was that they didn't increase the rent for the total eclipse as so many other property owners were doing for this event. Joe also offered to drive us to the top of the hill to view the eclipse. The place was perfect, clean, and had everything you could want. Lots of room. Super efficient kitchen area. And so close both to town and to the state park for hiking and fun. Our family had such a wonderful time.

February Fun!
Maray Hills property did not disappoint! We stay in the Mohican area a couple times a year, and this cabin was absolutely perfect! The property grounds were amazing, there’s private acres of land to hike, wildlife to see, fresh spring water to drink on your hike and rivers and hills! We had the chance to chat with the property owner and get a little history of the family owned property. Such a fantastic find! We would definitely come back!

Peaceful and beautiful
We really enjoyed our stay at Maray Hills. We looked for a get away for our family that was pet friendly. My husband's dad just passed away unexpectedly and we needed a distraction as this was the first holiday without both of his parents. The large windows provided a beautiful view of the river. We had everything we needed for cooking during our stay. It was clean, spacious and quiet. We would love to go back in the summer. Than you for a beautiful weekend away.

Wonderful place in the woods
The house was perfect for us. We had our family Thanksgiving there. Plenty of room and the kitchen was stocked with all the utensils, pots and pans we needed. The large windows faced the river with a very nice view and had bird feeders that were a blast to watch - many species of birds and a couple of adorable squirrels came to visit. The house was clean with comfortable furniture and beds. The setting is very private, but a super convenient place if you stay in the summer, for hiking, canoeing and visiting the state park. The owners kindly touched base with us when we got there, but everything was so nice we never had a need to bother them during our stay. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to others.

Girls Weekend
The property was beautiful and very clean. Plenty of space for 7 friends to get together for lots of laughs, games, cooking together, and making memories. Enjoyed the fire pit area while the rain wasn’t falling, we made the best of it on a rainy fall weekend. Beds were pretty comfortable, bathrooms were nice, living space was cozy, watching the river and all of the birds attracted to the property while drinking morning coffee was very pleasant. Everyone had a great time! I would definitely rent the property in the future. The grill could use an update.

Our family came here for a short trip to Mohican State Park and had a great experience! The hosts communicated in a timely manner and everything was as expected. The space is gorgeous and in a great location near Mohican. We enjoyed the views and the bird feeder!

Annual couples outting
Our group of ten adults spends a weekend every summer in Mohican to get away. This is the third time we've stayed at Maray Hills in Joe And Lara's Property. We've also stayed at their Firehouse property down the street on a fourth trip. Their properties are very well kept as just as they are described on the VRBO site. Can't wait till next year!

Retirement Celebration
We had an amazing time celebrating my retirement. The house was perfect, in a great location right on the river. Reese, our yellow lab, enjoyed it as well. Lots of fun and great memories made.

Perfect spot to relax
What a life it would be if you could wake up every morning and have your coffee looking out that window. From birds (grosbeaks, cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, and so many more) to squirrels and chipmunks it's never ending activity. Beautiful greenery with the river beyond just makes it magically peaceful. Literally I have a chance I got I was in front of that window which isn't hard because it's the whole back side of the house. Comfy beds, all of the"stuff" you need in the kitchen and family. What a life it was for the weekend.

Sisters and live like a sister weekend get away!
We absolutely loved the indoor and outdoor area.They were both breathtaking, we went to town had a great time there but mostly stayed in the cabin and enjoyed each other's company, played games, listened to music and just had a great time catching up and de-stressing. We will definitely rebook here.

First impression of the cabin was great. The view was beautiful overlooking the water and the perfectly placed bird feeder right in main window of the dining room. The power went out due to a storm rolling through and i was able to get ahold of management very easily no problem at all to answer all my questions. We were all very impressed and will be returning again!

Relaxation
Property was as advertised. Plenty of space for 8 Adults. My family looks for a place over New Years to just relax and play games and unwind after all the holiday craziness. This was a wonderful house to do this in. Kitchen had plenty of cook ware and plates and silverware for the large group. Scenic site right on the River. Plenty of wildlife to watch out of the house’s oversized windows. Due to the weather we were unable to use the fire pit but had a large fire pit right by the water. We did do some Hiking on trail at Mohican State park only a few miles away from the house. We also went into Mt Vernon to do some sightseeing and went Bowling. Beds were comfortable. Nice large dining table to play games. We had great communication with the owners. We had no issues with the house. We would love to come visit over the summer and enjoy the outdoor adventures As this location would be perfect. Thank you for the wonderful stay and we would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Really lovely riverside home
We enjoyed our time with 4 adults and an infant. Everything was comfortable and the location is great. I would suggest if you really like cooking to bring your favorite pot/pan or other kitchen items. Otherwise everything you need for a nice stay.

We had a wonderful weekend at Marat Hill!

Great Cabin near Mohican Activities
Great property in the heart of Mohican! Right on the river and comfortable to accommodate our group. Tucked away but still walking distance to Dollar General, Trails End Restaurant and Mohican Adventures. We had a great time and would love to visit again!

It was a great experience for all involved.!
I met Joe Kiefer, owner, upon arrival, and it did not take me long to realize he was a class act. The property is amazingly relaxing, and beautiful. Everything you need for an excursion can be found in the home. I rented this not only for myself but also for some college fraternity brothers, and we plan on being regular renters for this property. It was such an enjoyable experience!

Wonderful Stay
This is a very lovely house. There is plenty of room for a lot people. It is not far from the main road but it is tucked away and surround by wooded area and the river runs in front of the house. The yard is very large our dog loved running outside. The whole front of the house has windows so you can look out and see all the beautiful nature around you. We enjoyed seeing the birds at the bird feeder. This house is located a short walk to river run livery where we went canoeing. My whole family loved the house/ property. We would definitely like to come back.

This is a wonderful property on the Mohican River located in a gorgeous part of the state!
