Great for budget travellers

For a cheap hostel in Luang Prabang, this was great. I loved that everything was in good walking distance such as the Phosi Hill and the night market, However, some things to consider, this hostel didn't have much in the way of security. We weren't given any key to the front door or room meaning everything was open and anyone could walk in at any time. Also keep in mind that there are no lockers in the room, on top of this the showers and toilets were not very clean, all for £5 a night you can't complain really, I had fun in luang Prabang.

First, the good: The staff was nice and the area was very walkable Now the bad: Y not you ask? I’ll tell you y not! They did a very good job making the hostel look decent in pictures. It is not. Walls are cracked and dirty. The beds are harder than life itself. Rooms are cramped even if the room isn’t completely full. There are 3 toilets and 3 showers FOR THE ENTIRE building. Which I’m sure is about 40 people. We dont get room keys because The rooms don’t lock. The stairs to the second floor are literally like going up a ladder they’re so steep and small. Also, pools?!?! HA. What a lie! There isn’t a single one there or around. Do not recommend. At all.

Clean, nice staff and friendly owner

I spend two nights here at Y Not Lao. Even it's raining almost both days but the staff still suggested places to go. I love the view from shower room and comfy bed. :)

You get what you pay for. The location is great! However the staff is not helpful. I came to book direct with the hostel so avoid third party fees. The younger gentleman at the desk did not want to help me. He lied and said the hostel is fully booked. When Expedia said there were 6 beds left. So I just booked through Expedia while sitting at reception. The way it was advertised on Expedia is misleading. Said I booked 7 bunk bed dorm. Which really means 14 bed dorm. I just needed something cheap and good location for one night before leaving town. It was also very dirty. Ants and spiderwebs. You take off your shoes before entering the hostel and walking around in 5 mins your feet get black. I never saw a cleaning person.

Ostello in posizione centrale ma in strada trafficata costantemente. La scelta era determinata dalla descrizione di piscine insistenti. Struttura desueta traballante con un bagno ed una doccia a piano x oltre 20 persone. Scala di accesso pericolosa ripida ed instabile e condizioni di pulizia critiche.. Personale immerso nei giochi dello smart phone con scarsa disponibilità e poca comprensione della lingua. Al mattino il caffè. esaurito......

I don’t usually write reviews and was very skeptical about this hostel when I booked it since it’s so low cost (I paid USD $15 for 3 nights including taxes). I took a chance on it due to all the prior/raving reviews... so here I am writing one in case you have the same doubt! This is a relatively newly opened hostel and on my arrival, Mr Lai Lee put me in a separate room so I can have some privacy to myself. This is such a nice gesture (tho it’s low travel season in Laos), but he didn’t have to do that... the bed and linens are clean and they assured me there will be no cockroaches as I’m terrified of them lol... I saw none and no other bugs during my entire stay here and they kept the common areas very clean at all times. In the morning, they serve you either western style omelette or Lao noodle soup for breakfast which really makes you think if they charged enough for my hotel stay! This hostel is located near the Phou Si Mountain and everything you need in LP. The local restaurant right across the road is excellent too. In mornings I usually chat with Mr Dao and he shared his experience as a novice monk and some local insights with me... it’s really an experience that I would pay triple or more to get and my stay here has been an awesome one. Hope you will too! :)

The staff are brilliant, the location is brilliant, the hostel is brilliant, breakfast is brilliant, brilliant value for money. everything is brilliant. If I could score higher I would. 立地は比較的良かったです。ただ、目の前にスポーツバーがあり、遅くまで音楽や話し声が結構が聞こえてきます。また、特別汚いことはありませんし、値段からするとコスパはいいと思いますが、日本人には少し清掃状況が気になるかもしれません。 スタッフはとても親切でフレンドリーです。 朝食サービスや夜7〜9時まではウォッカが飲み放題ですし、簡単なツアーの仲介もしてくれるので、総合的には悪くないですが、慣れたバックパッカー 向きのゲストハウスです。

New hostel. Good location. 10 -15 mins walk to night market. Some stuff are not ready. They said they will close for renovations. No air con. Staff is very helpful. The other guest took my towel, they run to give me a clear one. Overall, I had a pleasure stay and good value for money. They. An help to book bus and tour tickets
