"While our stay here was interrupted by Hurricane Lala, we still made the most of it. Once the storm passed we were treated with the serenity of the crashing waves and some pretty amazing views. We were also able to walk the beach for a couple miles up toward Ha’ena Beach to take in all the North Shore has to offer. I would highly recommend this location for the simplicity and spectacular sunrises alone, and we will definitely be back to fill in the gaps left by the passing Hurricane."

The kitchem was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and having A/C in August really helps us sleep well (it also means we can close the windows at night so I never once was woken up by a rooster). We practically lived on the front porch with beautiful mountain views and a very comfortable patio lounge set. The proximity to Tunnels beach was so convenient that we always found parking before the rest of the island had taken up all the parking spots. I absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a North Shore rental."

"We loved our stay at this home! The size was perfect for our family of 10. The location and view are absolutely amazing. My mother-in-law spent the majority of her time on the deck off the living room enjoying the ocean view, The living room and dining room fit all of us comfortably. The kitchen was incredibly organized and great to cook in. Everything was clean and very well stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here and made wonderful memories. Would highly recommend."

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay here. We enjoy hearing the waves crash at all hours. It was easy to book online, easy to check in. Pool was great - warm and we were often the only guests there. Plenty of drawer space for clothes and a nice big bathroom counter. A few notes - there is not a lot of storage space for dry/pantry food - the "pantry" cabinet next to the fridge holds the garbage bin and some other random items, no shelves for food. There is no AC so it is necessary to have ceiling fans going all the time during the hot summer months. There was a floor fan in the closet, but it did not work. We did ask management for a working fan, but never heard anything back and did not receive a working fan during our 5 night stay. The property is listed as occupancy up to 4 people, but there were only 2 beach chairs provided. I did ask management if it was possible to get another chair for our party of 3, again did not hear anything back or receive another chair. The shower tile/grout and bathroom exhaust fan need a deep clean, everything else was very clean. Beds/pillows were pretty comfy. Window screens were intact, we had very few bugs get in. It's a short drive to Hanalei for lots of food options, just know the road between Hanalei and the resort is windy and slow with several one lane bridges. We did this drive at least once a day to get food or go to beaches and towards the end of our stay it was a bit of an annoyance - something to keep in mind if curvy drives bother you."

"On a lovely plot of land next to an idyllic stream that you can watch flowing by sitting on the second floor patio (fully screened in) taking in the sounds of nature this wonderful house will capture your heart and provide lovely shelter for you and your loved ones while visiting Hanalei. Mark is a warm and attentive host who looked after us the entire time and was always ready to support us in having a great time visiting this beautiful place. -Well stocked-Fast Internet-Tastefully Decorated-All windows and doors with screens (except the front door)-Comfortable BedsIf you are looking for an authentic, cared for, comfortable, relaxing, well located, house you would be well served staying here."

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is about the vibe. And by that I mean an authentic north shore experience. And that means it won't be for everyone. Kauai is humid, was 94% while we were there and this property was build in 1964 to those standards. So, that humidity is in everything. We were four 50 somethings looking for that authentic vibe so we thought it was great but again, if you are looking for blemish free, air conditioned and hotel standards, this is not your place. If you want to feel like you stepped back in time and connect with the amazing unique north Kauai environment while feeling that ocean breeze and also be just a few minutes to Hae na and Halanei, then couldn''t recommend it more."
