Peaceful Getaway
We had a great stay at this property, which was exactly as described. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for our family of 4, and the amenities throughout the house provided everything you needed for a home away from home. We used and appreciated everything, from the kayaks to the crab traps and crab pot. We bought 2 extra rolls of toilet paper, but that was the only additional thing neesed for our 5 night stay other than groceries. There were plenty of towels, blankets, etc. This property is very private/quiet. It was a great spot to kayak with kids as the water was very calm. Our favorite activity of the trip was kayaking to the end of the creek to a little beachy spot where the creek meets the river. We weren't able to swim off the dock at the house while we were there due to jellyfish, but we had a lot of fun wading in the waves and looking for shells at the little beach spot.Solomons Island had a nice vibe, and we tried several restaurants as well as the Calvert Marine Museum. The museum was a great find. The boardwalk didnt have as many shops and activities as we hoped, but overall there was enough to keep us busy. We are outdoorsy people, so we spent a lot of time kayaking, fishing, crabbing, and exploring local park beaches. These are 'natural' beaches, not maintained tourist beach spots, but that was OK with us. If you want to visit this area and have a small number of people, this property is a great choice!
