The hotel has incredible historical charm and no doubt was a very prestigious hotel in the early 20th century. The location is also very ideal and one can easily walk and explore many key sites of Lviv.

This beautiful historic hotel is in a bit of a pause if you are looking for plush carpets etc. due to the war; however, the staff, the service and the food more than make up for it. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with old world charm. The staff, the stars of the property go out of their way to quietly welcome the visitor, anticipating and attending to each need without being obtrusive. Meals in the grand dining hall are beautifully laid out and scrumptious. The hotel is located in the historic city’s centre amidst shops and markets. I highly recommend the George as a haven for any traveller who wants a classy yet unpretentious break or base.

Great option for Lviv center stay.

Excellent location and great classic property. Very good breakfast with great service. We will recommend using restaurant for high quality dinner at reasonable prices ! Will return if back to Lviv.

We arrived at the George Hotel in the middle of the night due to the train schedule. The Hotel staff had arranged for our pickup from the train station and were very warm at reception when they provided us with our room key and invitation to breakfasts. The room was very clean, well appointed given the historic nature of the hotel. The bed was comfy, shower perfect and the staff very accommodating all week. The buffet breakfast in the beautiful dining room was plentiful and well laid out. Again, the staff were very accommodating. Understanding that Ukraine is a country under attack, it is important to know that the hotel has a comfortable, staffed shelter in the basement.

George Hotel is the oldest hotel in Lviv, the wooden floor in room is in poor. Some rooms have to share toilet and bathroom, so please make sure which type of room you want to book. The breakfast buffet is unexpectedly good.

Nice, affordable hotel in the center of Lviv

Friendly reception. Hotel still really breaths the Soviet style, but is in a relatively good condition. So quite interesting. Good bed, shower and clean room. So no problem there. We were traveling with a dog and although their policy is to not allow big dogs, they didn’t make a problem for our medium sized Aussie. Parking was free and also no extra charge for the dog. Only remark would be that they don’t have airco and we were staying there in the middle of a heatwave. While booking, I didn’t check to see if they had airco, so completely my own fault.
