Great place for a quiet holiday
Great environment, nice view from the leisure area at the floor we stayed. Room in excellent condition, very clean and refreshing. I like the location of the hotel as in the mid-level of a hilly district so we can have great view the southern part of Macau. It is quiet. Felt like a nice little Shangrila. Breakfast offered in great value especially if purchased for family. Greatly appreciate for the friendly service of staff. And I loved the art exhibition held at the lobby by the moment I lived in this hotel.

This hotel was not quite what I had expected. It is a bit isolated from the city without any shops, restaurants or markets nearby. I did walk to Senado, but I certainly would not recommend it. It is located up on a hill so plan on taking a taxi anytime you want to go out. There is not a casino which if I had researched I would have easily found out, but it was an assumption I made incorrectly. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly.

This Hotel is rather secluded in compare to the other Hotels that are gathering together in Macau, distance to the Casinos and the eating places are quite far and most of the transport needed is by Taxi, some drivers knew where we are going they chase us to get off the Taxi as it is abit too far off, hence it is quiet inconvenient, although despite all that, it got quite a good view as it is located in middle of the hill, and directly infront of the Hotel is the Macau Tower.

Hard to say. The staffs are nice but the room faced a wall. No scenery at all. If you pay over $1500 for one night, you can find another room with better view in Macau.

Location
We booked it primarily to watch the firework display. It was worth it. Hotel is not near the other amenities. Need to walk about 15 minutes to reach the old Macau district. Taxis are hard to come by but the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful to get one for you.

Nice hotel at the top of the hill
Before my visit, I was kind of worried as the hotel isn't replying to any of my emails. I tried contacting them thru their official website and was unable to contact them too. However, when I reached the hotel, I was met with very professional staffs. Hotel is very nice. Hotel room nicely decorated. Very pleased with the overall experience. **hotel is located at the top of a very steep 'hill', requires a lot of energy to climb up to the top if you missed the free shuttle bus.

View is Exaggerated
I liked it. The view is blocked by a building. Not what som.e posts gushed about. They also had me on the other side. Hard walk up a hill. It's decorated in old Chinese style. Cute. Makes you feel you are in a different country. Not smokey smelling. Patio. Good tv selection. And the smartest thing is they LOAN you a cel phone for FREE! why doen't every place do this? The one other negative is that they have a no outside food rule. I didn't respect it and they didn't challenge me on it.

Riviera Hotel review
Very good location! Put us on the first floor so didn’t have a good view. The bed was not very comfortable, and they didn’t start breakfast service until 7:30 AM.

Nice hotel, great service. Free shuttle not great.
Location is a bit of an issue. Walk to town is great (weather permitting) but going back is uphill and tedious. Free shuttle to town & ferry every hour but don't rely on it to pick you up in town. You either walk back (tiring when you're carrying stuff) or take a cab (expensive). No Uber in Macau at time of stay. Otherwise, it's a good hotel - nice, clean, spacious rooms. Nice little Portuguese inspired restaurant (Amigo). There's another Chines one but didn't try.

Great view
Generally friendly staff. Generally clean. Elevators were pleasantly quick. Comfortable beds and bedding. A disturbing “air freshener” scent in the pubic areas. Our two windows could not be opened. The bathtub did not hold bath water, but drained with the stopper closed. Mildewy smell in the shower area. Our room view faced a stained wall, but we did have access to a sparsely furnished balcony overlooking water, bridges, and the Macao Tower. A magnificent view any time of day or night, though a staff member came up late one night to warn us not to kill ourselves (???)

Excellent stay. Fantastic view.
An ideal stay for those who prefer to be away from the casinos and the noise. The shuttle bus offers several drop off locations on the way to the ferry terminal, as well as hop on locations, very convenient. The breakfast was delicious and the view is spectacular. Recommended!

Hotel is nice. Rooms are good. Gave us extra soaps and stuff every single day, even when we didn't need it. Stayed here for 3 nights during a busy time. They have a shuttle from the new ferry terminal at the bottom of every hour. We didn't know this an took a normal bus to get there. Shuttle was convenient and free though. Helped us get back a few times and helped us get downtown to the casinos with ease. Overall good stay, hallways were noisy from time to time but that was mainly just other peoples kids, nothing hotel can really do about it. Price was a little high but holiday time, cant be helped. Would stay here again

Close to all I wanted to do in Macau
This is my third trip to Macau and first experience staying at the Riviera Hotel. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. As well included in my package was a morning breakfast which was excellent. I would highly suggest taking a look at this hotel for any future trips you may want to take to Macau as it certainly filled the requested needs I wanted.

Comfy and stylish rooms
The hotel is not centrally located but a 10 to 15 min shuttle ride can put you in the middle of Macau. The beds were very comfortable and the view of the Macau tower is a plus. The breakfast buffet was good as well!

Nice hotel, great view, somewhat awkward to get to
Nice modern hotel, but some difficulty for taxi drivers to find it. Great view of the Macau tower and bridges. The hotel provides a shuttle to downtown and the ferry terminal hourly, but we found it awkward to use to get back. Breakfast was good, but ran out of most popular items from 9:30.

nice quiet hotel on a slope
Hotel is located at a quiet location away from all the buzz. Clean, comfortable room. Free wifi in room, free shuttle service to ferry terminal. Bus stop in front of HK can get you to Zhuhai border/custom. There's a nice Portuguese restaurant walking distance from hotel. Near Macau tower.

Nice hotel with strange staff in restaurant
The female staff in Amigo restaurant is so funny. She speaks Cantonese with us initially. But when we asked her for sth with Cantonese, she rudely replied "please use English".

Friendly, Clean and Quiet
The Riviera is a good choice if you want to save some money in Macau. The rooms are large and clean. There are plenty of amenities and the climate control works well. The bathroom is spacious and well appointed. The restaurant serves a good buffet breakfast for only $10 if it is not included with your room. The staff is friendly, efficient and always present to assist you. The hotel is removed from the downtown area, so it is a good walk to town, but there are a few good restaurants nearby. It is on a hillside, so the return trip is an uphill walk. Of course, Macau cabs are inexpensive so it is not an issue. This does help the hotel remain quiet from street noise. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and was able to save more than $50 a day on accommodations.

incredible beautiful room and hotel
The hotel is a very nice art deco building. Beautiful from the inside and the outside and underrated. The room and service where 5 star. The best hotel I ever stayed in. If you want to see the old Macao go there. The decoration of the room is classy. Do not miss it.
