It was nice being on the water. The location however was strange. The place was very clean & tidy. It was a bit too small & uncomfortable for 4 people. Better suited for 2 people.

what we liked:-Cabin was very clean and stocked with basics: linens, plenty of towels, etc. -Shower was hot and worked well. -Water tasted good.- Very cozy and fit our needs well. - The refrigerator, microwave, stove, and toaster oven were nice options.- Located just under a mile from Shepler's Ferry and was a very easy bike ride with the family. Other comments:- The brand new smoke detector still had the plastic tab in it that is supposed to be removed for it to be functional We were able to remove it though. - The compressor unit(?) is located right outside the master bedroom window, so it sounded like a helicopter right outside the window.- The cabin is literally on the beach so there is sand right up to the steps. It's a beautiful view and you can see the bridge off in the distance, but know that sand will inevitably be tracked inside.Suggestions:- bathroom needs to have a trash receptacle- add a dust pan, we swept up the sand but didn't have anything to use for scooping it up and did our best to clean. - add more plates, there were enough for 4 people.- add a bike rack outside or something to park/lock bikes on.Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.

We arrived to a used, not cleaned property. Dirty towels, unmade beds and full trash. Not what you want to arrive to after a long days drive. Luckily we were able to switch to another room but such a hassle. We also had to contact the manager to get our key codes. We never received that email on arrival day. And to boot, manager never once even apologized. Very disappointing.

Beach front cabin could not be beat for location and the cabin was clean and a great home base for all things Mackinaw city within walking distance, including the ferry to Mackinac Island. Beach is rocky in places, so be sure to bring some good water shoes! Access to the amenities of the nearby hotels was also a nice bonus, although some of the hotel facilities are a bit dated and have some deferred maintenance. The information sent to on check in day could provide better directions to the cabins, like which hotel parking lot to use to access them.

No coffee cups, no bathroom trash can. A/C unit did not cool properly, vibrated the whole cabin, and was very loud. Smoke detector never had plastic tab removed from battery and is non-functional. No entry rug or door mat outside. I would suggest hooks outside and inside the bathroom for towels and a larger mirror in the bedroom. Not enough sheets for 6 people. Neighbors were friendly.

It was the perfect place! We absolutely loved everything about it. Besides the spiders haha. If we ever stay in Mackinaw again, we definitely will stay at a cabin again! Thank you!

Two bedrooms is misleading

The photos are technically accurate, but if you look closely, like I unfortunately didn't, you will see that the second bedroom is actually the hallway connecting the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. There is no door between the kitchen/living room space and the bunk beds, which were smaller than the average twin bed. This place is fine for a single family with children, but too small for three or more adults. The cabins are also very close to each other and the connected motel is in shambles with several obvious safety code violations on the property. As others said, communication with the property manager was non-existent except the automatic welcome message. I found the place to be acceptably clean, but the listing is way oversold and overpriced in my opinion.

Perfect little spot

It was a cute place. Perfect for the 4 of us. Having access to the pool and hot tub, plus the lake was perfect. The view is beautiful. Very clean and cool from the summer heat inside. We would definitely stay again.

Water front

The communication between the front desk and the renter was not the greatest. They had no idea what was going on and gave us misleading information. The actual cabin was amazing very clean. It was perfect for our vacation. Love the beachfront. The names of the waterpark on the listing are completely wrong, so it’s very hard to find them . so an update listing is in order.!

Cabin is cute and new. Housekeeping was fair at best. With the units being new, it doesn’t take much effort to clean. The kitchen floor had pet food in the corners, the blanket on the queen bed had some sort of crusty substance on it. There were NO wash clothes to use. No extra roll of TP. The lock on the door is almost falling off as is the door itself. Communication is good when you arrive, forget about it while you’re there and really forget about it after you leave.It was a good stay for the one night. Just a few things they need to work on.

This property could be something beautiful, but instead it’s not taken care of at all. There’s bugs and cobwebs inside and outside everywhere. Leftover trash, bottles and lighters everywhere on the beach and in the immediate surrounding areas, causing more seagulls attacking us and sitting on our car, waiting for more leftovers to be shared. Bird crap and cobwebs all over the plastic chairs. A broken unsafe futon, ceiling fan that didn’t work, no paper towels on hand, plastic wrap on a ceiling light. No refund even though we left after 15 minutes of being there. It’s gross and disgusting for any families that care about a sense of hospitality and return investment on their hard-earned money being spent on a genuine family vacation. We went down the street at a typical hotel chain and had a better experience where it was kept clean, including their beach. So very disappointed the beachside-cabin was not cleaned or maintained well enough to stay.

There were no wash cloths, no soap, no garbage bags. Floors weren’t cleaned and neither was the place. Dirty floors and dishes in rack. I have photos of everything we encountered. We cleaned the place so the next people wouldn’t have to have the same experience. Sand all over floor. Would never stay again!

When we arrived to check in after 4pm our cabin had not been cleaned. We were not able to get in contact with the host. You have to go to the front desk of the hotel and have them get in contact with the property manager. We were put into a different cabin luckily. It was mostly clean other than sand all in the floor and on the table. Would recommend putting a cheap broom in the cabins so guests can sweep out the sand! Oven didn”t work. Other than all of that we had a good stay. It’s a nice view from the cabins and walking distance from the ferry to the island!

It is a very nice cabin. Perfect for our quick stay. We did get woken up at 4:30, I think from the AC turning on. It was shaking the bed a little. Lucky didn’t last long, but defiantly got us all up. Location is nice on the beach and got to see fireworks.

Great stay right on the beach!

My family of six loved staying in this adorable cabin on the beach. The space inside and outside was great. It would have been nice to have a sponge as well as a broom and dustpan for cleaning up after the kiddos. The futon cushion was very comfortable. My biggest issue was one of the spare blankets was messy. We set it conspicuously to the side for housekeeping to address after we checked out. Thankfully, there was plenty of other bedding to accommodate our crew. We plan to return with extended family to enjoy a set of these cabins together next year.

Beautiful sunrise

Check-in was at 4 o’clock. I got there a few minutes after four and they were still cleaning. They told me it would be a little bit longer so I went to check out the town. When I came back, I was able to check in. It was very clean nice cabin with a beautiful view of Lake Huron. You don’t really see the bridge except for the tips of it. you do have to Drive through a seedy looking motel to get to the property. But overall, it was I had a fantastic day. Nice neighbors in the cabins next to me, beautiful sunrises, and you can have a fire on the beach.

Excellent for a family of 4!

We visited for 4 nights and had a great time. The location was perfect! It was within a mile of everything. Our kids loved being on the beach. The water was shallow and clean. The cabin was clean and worked well for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kiddos ages 6 and 9). We would visit again. Some other reviews indicated concerns with the motel near the cabins. It is dated, but everything at the motel was clean and well taken care of. We had no concerns with the cabjns being near the motel.
