Granted the location is not conducive to walking outside of the guarded perimeter, but inside you can stroll through the orchid gardens and admire the carefully groomed landscaping. The staff are very friendly and our happy to help and answer questions. Although I didn’t appreciate security smoking outside my window during the night it was a bit annoying, I have an overall appreciation for this place. I give an overall four out of five star rating because They advertise Wi-Fi but there is none, they advertise complementary airport shuttle pick up but it cost 40 Kina. You’re sure to enjoy the view from the waters edge restaurant. The sunrises are fabulous. This is family friendly

More than sufficient for an overnight!

The staff was courteous and helpful. I had to have someone check out the TV to get it working but they came quickly and it was dealt with efficiently. The room was clean and sufficient although perhaps a little old. The view was beautiful and it was quiet.

Five day stay at Madang Lodge.

It was amazing. The place is so beautiful gardens and flowers are well maintained. The location of the restaurant wind hauses and the beachfront are so beautifully laid out. I have already recommended this place to my families and friends. Very quiet and amazing place to relax and enjoy the confort of Madang Lodge.

This is a lovely hotel, it is perfectly clean and the staff are incredibly polite. The grounds are immaculate and the restaurant serves well prepared food that it fairly priced. However, the management of this property really lets the overall experience down. The Expedia listing for a budget room wrongly describes there being a bathroom in the room (i.e. not a shared bathroom), we had to pay double to move rooms. The shuttle service in and out of town (costing K5 p.p.) refused to collect a group of 4 of us at 6:10pm from the town centre 5 minutes away because the service ends at 6pm. It was very dark and not considered safe for tourists to be out and about, the management had no regard for our safety and left us stranded. We were very lucky that the staff at the Madang Resort in the centre of town fixed the problem - the next morning, we checked out of Madang Lodge and into the Madang Resort - a much better choice.

Die Zimmer der 3. (Budget) Kategorie sind klein, nur mit Ventilator und ohne eigenes Badezimmer. Die Zimmer der 2. Kategorie sind perfekt sauber, geräumig und mit einwandfrei funktionierender Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Die Terrasse ist schön und schattig. Um sich wohlfühlen zu können, sollte man auf jeden Fall diese Kategorie buchen, auch wenn sie natürlich teurer ist. Die Angestellten sind kompetent, freundlich und sehr bemüht. Der Swimmingpool ist gross, herrlich sauber und erfrischend - einfach traumhaft! Die ganze Anlage ist wunderbar gepflegt und absolut sicher, weil eingezäunt und von Security-Personal bewacht. Das Restaurant mit der schön luftigen Veranda ist sehr gut und trotzdem nicht teuer. Ein Aufenthalt in der Madang Lodge ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

Great Madang getaway

Very well run hotel in a beautiful location near Madang town centre. Stunning garden and decent gym. Cozy coffee shop and great craft shop on the premises. Free transport to and from airport. My only complaint was about their wifi but this probably has to do with poor internet connectivity in PNG.

Great place, beautiful garden and ocean view

I loved the Madang Lodge. I had the cheap fan room, with shared bathroom and benefited from all the facilities, like the beautiful garden, the amazing ocean view restaurant, the gym and the great great great staff. I really enjoyed staying there. I recommend diving at the Madang Resort and visit the Cultural Center 3 min from the Lodge, to explore the region in nice trips, very reasonably priced.

Staying a Booking with Expedia not recommended

Because I booked with Expedia: 1)I was given false info. All rooms booked was not the truth. The hotel had rooms. 2)I tried to cancel my room the day before my arrival but every phone no. given did not connect me. One said "out of service." That frustrated me. 3)According to my online booking I sent emails to cancel. When I checked my booking I couldn't see it there but the hotel nor I received confirmation of my cancellation. 4)I booked in Sept. 18. On that day I received an email from expedia congratulating me for receiving 50% off my room. In clarification I realized it was more of a scam. I was offered rooms in London, Tokyo and wherever but not in Madang. It took a lot of effort to confirm that NO I did not receive any special offer. 5)I did not cancel because I had to pay the full price either way. It just left me with a foul taste in my mouth when I here the words EXPEDIA and my preferred CUSTO
