Smartr Madrid Gran Vía 47 is a solid retreat for active dynamic tourists and visitors seeking a central, short stay in Madrid. Its location is good, offering direct access to major sights and transit. Pros: • The central location is truly excellent for exploring the city. • The breakfast provided was high-quality and very satisfying with a nice view of the city. • Reception staff were friendly, helpful, and comfortably multilingual. Cons: • My specific room was very small and felt quite cramped. • Outside street noise occasionally filtered into the living space. • The bed could be better Overall, it is a convenient "home base" if you plan to spend most of your time out exploring the city.

Great location, very centric, all the shoppings and restaurants, tourist sites near by. The downside is that the walls are not soundproof so you can hear all the conversations in the hallway, room next door and all the staff cleaning. Noisy! The room itself was convenient because it included some appliances in the kitchen, bathroom too small for the price. But clean!

Front desk staff were lovely!! Property is older but clean and tidy. Kitchen was adequately eqipped however we could not find pods in the grocery store fit the Delta coffee maker. Excellent location walkable to all the touristy spots and located in the theatre district. We enjoyed out stay.

The property is pretty rundown, in dire need of a refurbishment, but for being in such a central location it's alright for one night or two. You definitely need earplugs though, as that avenue is the main one in the city so it's noise 24/7 even if you're on the top floors. The reception people were lovely and the place was clean.

This was almost false advertising. The only good things that can be said about this place is that the room was clean, and it is located in a busy downtown area with lots in walking distance. But the hotel itself is basically a "dive"-- windowless, dingy, elevators that stop a foot above the floor, no cleaning of the room each day, and the vaunted city view breakfast is two city blocks away in a totally different building.

For a 3-star hotel it is excellent. In front of La Gran Via and the Santo Domingo bus and metro stops, it makes moving through Madrid a breeze. Carefour grocery is nearby, so are restaurants and ice cream shops. Near Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and other landmarks in the area.

The location was great. Easy to access all the main attractions. The front staff was friendly and able to hold our bags after check out. The bed was hard but it was good size. It did get really loud at night until about 3am. Would stay again due to location but would get the bigger size room (we had the studio).
