Very quiet the Onsen was lovely. The hotel was very clean. We enjoyed a restaurant called The Campfire a steakhouse just down the street. There is a convenience store close by and some other restaurants to choose from.
We had such a wonderful time at MICASA! We stayed in one of the private onsen rooms, and it was a gorgeous mid-trip treat! The food was phenomenal— and so filling! — and we had a lovely time exploring the surrounding area in the snow!
Fantastic onsen experience for myself and my girlfriend. Facilities were well maintained and private bath for our room was excellent! Breakfast and dinner food was fantastic and service was english accommodating and very friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to escape the city and have a tranquil few days.
We went to the hotel without much expectation. There were three hot spring which you can use privately for an hour, but it was off season so we were very lucky.
It was old and cozy we loved staying there.
I have truly enjoyed my time at this hotel because it also had personal Onsens and public Onsens on site. I really enjoyed my Ryukan traditional Japanese room with a large amount of great amenities and I want to come to this place every time I come to Japan though I must let you know if you’re staying in Tokyo it takes about almost 3 hours outside of Tokyo, which you can catch the trains to get to. This place is located in the mountains in Japan and it is very well worth it if you’re looking to relax and to be just Lord by the beautiful site that you will see and experience the custom of traditional Japanese people then you would definitely like to stay here because it was amazing.
It's a small lovely hotel. The staffs are nice but they dont speak much English. If you need pick up at train station, call them ahead. They dont answer emails or dont often check messages thru 3rd party. We booked thru Expedia, sent multiple messages, waited for 2 months, no responded. Luckily my cousin was in Tokyo for 3 months of work and she called the hotel for me. Many thanks to the driver. He waited for us at train station very late at night. The food was very good. The room are very clean and cozy. Private onsen was a plus. My husband who doesnt like to do onsen by himself, at this hotel he can do onsen with me. The view of yellow leaves from the out door onsen was super beautiful
First of all, I will have to say this hotel has very minor stinkbug problem just like all the Japanese old style wood structure hotels have. In the winter those bugs will find a way to invade wood houses, but don't worry, they won't bite, and the staffs try to clean them at their best. Beside that, all the other service is top grade compare to the price, people are friendly and try to provide best they have, nice onsen, comfortable and clean rooms, I think I will consider to stay there again.
This is an absolutely phenomenal ryokan. I've been to Japan 4 times and have stayed in many hotels around the country. This was in my top three! The service was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious (some of the best I've had in Japan). The room was clean, spacious, and perfectly cozy. Our view of the river on a snowy day was gorgeous. The onsen facilities are fantastic, including a private bath you can book as a couple. The location is ideal. Everything is clean and fresh, and the facilities have been newly renovated. But, the thing that topped it all was the service. We were treated with the most wonderful warmth and kindness. Everything we wanted was taken care of immediately. They even offered to drive us to the train station early in the morning after we checked out in the middle of a snow storm. Could not have asked for more. Though we had a short stay at Micasa, it was one of the highlights of our trip and we will definitely be back!
