「A family run small hotel right by the seafront. Clean, quiet and comfortable. The owners were also helpful and kind. No breakfast but there is a clean and well equipped kitchen to make your own food. Shower had good hot water. The only thing lacking was a blanket. 」

Even if we got there around 4 pm, the owner sent us a message around 9pm at night that we need to pay the total amount in cash or by money transfer. Toilet doesn’t flush properly and the shower will be cold or burning hot. Also, no water pressure. We’ve contacted the owner multiple time and she kept telling us there is a way to get a warm shower but it never worked at the end so we gave up asking. We also had to...

「This place is amazing! Excellent costumer service. The restaurant has a good variety of food. Definerly you need a car to go there. If you dont rent a car or have a car you should avoid it. Service taxi is around 20 dollars from downtown to the hotel and 20 dollars to go from the hotel to downtown. If you want to disconnect and stay the whole time at the hotel then you will enjoy they have the necessary there.」

「The best hotel in Bacalar. i have been coming to Akalki for over 14 years and never disappoints. Take note that the bungalow rooms on the water ( 1-4) do have air conditioning - the website ( expedia listing ) is not clear about that. Make sure to take a tour to go visit the temple and take Akalki boat tour on the water with your captain Yan. Every morning there is a holistic experience of either sound healing, yoga , meditation - endulge in these experiences as well. The spa is also incredible...
