「I recently had the pleasure of staying at the ITC Royal Bengal from April 14 - 25, 2024. It was a very positive experience. Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to make me feel welcome. 「The Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata is a stunning property. I spent two nights there, and the rooms were beautiful and well-maintained. With so many various cuisines offered, the breakfast was fantastic. We had dietary restrictions, so the chef made sure the meal was prepared in accordance with them, and the dinner was quite tasty. The hotel is ideally situated in close proximity to the airport. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it to others. 」

「ITC Sonar has the old world charm. It is trying very hard to stay relevant( and succeeding to some extent) after the advent of its bigger and better hotel next door, ITC Royal Bengal. But, for all its efforts, its a little jaded now. But its a large sprawling property. The Pan Asian restaurant is very good. A must eat place. A tip: Stay at ITC Sonar and use the facilities of its next door neighbor- ITC Royal Bengal」

「Staff was excellent and restaurants were superb. The room was clean but the property is old and could use some renovation. There was only one night where the noise was too loud (at 3am) but one call to the front desk and it was promptly addressed! 」

「The hotel is over all good but the things can be better. The menu in the restaurant is limited. It doesn't serve stuffed Parathas, almond and wall nut in breakfast. It doesn't show any business channel on TV. Staff is good and caring at all touch points. 」

The heritage is there but I would rate the property an average 2* and it is overpriced.」

「I chose this property because it boasted a swimming pool. When I arrived, I was told it was closed for the winter. I wish they’d told me beforehand. However they upgraded me to a suite. It is a good hotel, a bit soulless but it is situated away from the mayhem that is Central Kolkata. There is good mall nearby and a few decent eateries.」

Front desk taking passport and visa photos on their personal phones and making fun of official documents. No hot water in the bathroom. Safe doesn’t close, refrigerator doesn’t work, internet doesn’t work, lights doesn’t work, no water bottle and no connection to the front desk. Manager did not come to see the dark and...
