Nyonya and baba decor and unique heritage hotel. Like the spacious free spaces for photo taking, outdoor movie and parking. Also good location that walkable to all attractions
Room was clean and staff were friendly and attentive.
Sound isolation of the room wasnt the best though, as we could hear kids running outside the room, ang viests shouting to each other between floors
What a lovely place to stay and so clean and well run. Conveniently located for all the lovely old street shops and restaurants.
If there was one negative it would be that the front desk should tell late returning guests to not bang doors or behave loudly.
Absolutely gorgeous building and ideal location. Staff was decent, but not stellar. They only finished cleaning room in the late afternoon. Often forgot to change glasses and towels. Shades let in lots of light. Breakfast was okay, but not great. Staff never once responded to my messages or emails.

Disliked: Amenities
Apart from a kettle there was no other facilities provided in the room. We paid premiums for our stay and expected more. The towels and bed linens are not crisp white, they are of a grey white.
The options for cereals at the breakfast bar were the cheapest n unhealthy types.
The rice porridge was at room temperature- porridge needed to be served hot.
The staff at the breakfast dining room were more interested in chit chatting with their colleagues. Our table was full of used dishes but they took their time to clear them.
On the positive side, the front desk staff are competent and helpful. The room is big and tidy.
Beautiful hotel very close to Jonker Street and great restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful, and room was clean and comfortable. Very nice remodel of shop houses and we would stay again.
I rated it 4 stars as there are a couple of things to improve. Would be nice to have robes provided for use. We were put in a disabled persons’ room which wasn’t a problem except there’s a lack of surfaces in both the room and bathroom. No shower enclosure so water went everywhere. AC was stuck on cold so switched it off. Breakfast was fine but lacked variety.
Otherwise a very pleasant stay.
What a gem! A renovated house that is unbelievably beautiful - blend of simplicity and charm. From the arabesque tiling, water features and murals this boutique hotel is a must stay.
Tho room had no windows, which was not stated in the information. Would not stay again, despite pleasant staff. Room opened onto a public area, with people sitting and often yelling at night, right outside the door. Light poured in from under the door all night. I was going to book here for my arrival, but noticed the listing said it had no window. After my stay at the other place, I decide to extend my stay at Baba House, but checked very carefully that the room I was booking had windows. I saw nothing to indicate this, so when I got to the room, I was quite irritated. Strangely, the room is very big, but has no furniture in it but the bed, which is weird. At least provide a couch, or a table and two chairs, make something good out of it. But no. It looks bad, squeezing extra revenue out of bad spaces like this, and charging pretty much what a regular room costs.
