"Great value for the price, but more importantly...the manager was exceptionally helpful with advice for transportation from the ferry terminal and to the airport. I especially appreciated the reassurance in advance that he would be waiting for a very late arrival after 1am due to the ferry schedule...thanks again Bernie!"

Pioneer Inn by the River

"The Pioneer Inn is an older property which appears from the outside to have seen better days. However the friendly new owners are upgrading the interior. Our room was spacious & the beds were lovely. The floors were redone with new flooring , bathrooms vanity. etc. The restaurant which is run by the hotel owners has delicious Asian food. I enjoyed the beautifully presented tempura."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for a better home base to explore North Vancouver Island. The property was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. It was the perfect place to relax after days spent exploring the area.The location was peaceful, the views were beautiful, and we especially appreciated the chance to slow down and enjoy the incredible scenery that makes Port McNeill so special. Communication with Ray was excellent from start to finish, friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming. Some advice preload the lock box code as there is zero reception. This stay became a special part of our family’s memories as we shared this adventure with my parents during their cross-Canada journey. Thank you, Ray, for your hospitality and for providing such a wonderful place to stay. We would happily return and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area."

"Bob and Joanne were very friendly and excellent hosts. The suite is well equipped, fresh, beautiful, and clean. They're knowledgeable locals who provided information and recommendations for our entire trip. I would highly recommend them and they're suite to anyone thinking of a trip to Telegraph!"
