Perfect Weekend

Lovely cottage minutes from the beach!

Beautiful property, well appointed small cottage perfect for a couples getaway. Tucked on the road to the beach and perched on a hill, views from the deck and the sounds of birds in the morning and frogs in the evening were serene.

Cozy beach getaway

The house is beautiful and the furniture was comfortable and relaxing. A short walk from the beach, many state parks within driving distance, and after a long day you get to come home to a nice soak in the hot tub. Everything we hoped it would be!

Studying by Day, Soaking by Night

We had a wonderful & relaxing stay at Lazy Pine! The house was beautiful & exactly as advertised—charming, cozy, and full of character. There was a faint musty smell when we arrived (just classic old house vibes), but it dissipated once we opened the windows. The dining table worked perfectly for our group of law students on spring break—big enough for everyone to get some studying done during the day before enjoying the hot tub at night. The hot tub was definitely a highlight and made for the perfect way to unwind after hitting the books. We also really enjoyed being so close to “downtown” Manzanita (tiny, but delightful) & trying some of the local restaurants. Being able to see the ocean from the house was such a treat, and we even caught a stunning sunset on the one clear evening of our trip!One suggestion: it would be super helpful to place the hot tub key in the bin with the house info binder. It was hanging on a coat rack by the hot tub door and we spent quite a while looking for it. Communication with Vacasa support was frustrating, though. There seemed to be a language barrier, and they weren’t able to provide helpful or property-specific information. It seemed like they were just referencing the same VRBO listing we had already seen. Thankfully, we found the key ourselves, but given that the hot tub was one of our top must-haves, it would’ve been disappointing to miss out on that night. All in all, though, we loved our stay and would absolutely recommend Lazy Pine!

A new favorite.

We stayed here in 2020 and found a comforting respite. This visit 5 years later was even better than we remember. Very clean, thoughtfully appointed, and a comfortable space. The sunsets are stunning and listening to birdsong from the hot tub was fab! This is our new favorite on the Oregon Coast.

Good house but disappointed

Property was good but super disappointed after my wife left a new purse she purchased in Manzanita at the house in the bedroom closet and nobody could seem to find it. We called same day we checked out and were told we had to give $27 just for them to look into it with housekeeping. Because we were 100% certain we left the purse in the closet we did but unfortunately they say nothing was found.

Perfect for family with tweens

Perfect for our family. We had the best time. Close walk to ocean, privacy for tweens and lovely view. Great for our small dog and had everything we needed. Only issue was poor lighting in upstairs bathroom, like really bad. Also the dryer ran indefinitely, which could be a safety issue.

Great house. Disappointed by post stay contact.

House and location wonderful. Pictures don’t do it justice. Loved the record player and old records. Ocean view. Not suitable for people with mobility issues due to steep steps to front door. Couldn’t have enjoyed it more Texted with a chatbot which claimed a local crew would find our property and mail it to us. We gave clear instructions to location. This led to $25 charge to locate lost property. It said a local crew would contact us once property was found but we did not hear from anyone. Finally called the company and a person said he needed to check the field notes and put us on hold for a long time. Came back and said our property was not found. We’re we supposed to guess that? It was contact lenses in a drawer in the bathroom. Shouldn’t be hard to find. I wouldn’t bother using the fee-based service to locate lost property but the house is lovely.

Perfect getaway

From reaching out with some initial questions about the property to checking out the entire experience was amazing. The home was well cleaned and ready for our arrival. The wood burning fireplace made for a cozy and relaxing experience on the cold rainy day and night we had on our 3 night stay. With a quick and easy walk to the beach we got to enjoy time there early in the morning and later in the evening without all the crowds. What a wonderfully relaxing time this property allowed us to have.

Weekend Beach Getaway

Booked Lazy Pine for a surprise weekend getaway. Was private, clean, modern, well stocked, a short walk from the beach, and a great view of the ocean. It was exactly what we were looking for. Bottom line: would rent again and would recommend to others.

Beautiful view, cozy vacation

Enjoyed our time here. Very comfortable. Only surprises were the number of stairs leading to place and the busy highway we had to walk on to get to beach. However- the beach is super close by. Make sure to bring all cooking needs- even salt and pepper. Otherwise, the view was beautiful.

Mostly great

This house is close to the beach but is on a blind corner and although you can walk there as a little dangerous for the small stretch of road. I agree there are lots of stairs and anyone who has trouble with a lot of stairs to not rent this place. That said because of all the stairs you're slightly elevated and have a view of the ocean. We were two couples staying here one downstairs one upstairs with bathrooms in each location. Unfortunately the downstairs toilet didn't drain and the upstairs bathtub was VERY SLOW to drain. The rental company was very responsive but the maintenance couldn't fix it and they couldn't get a plumber to fix it on a weekend which is understandable. I do think the cleaning crew should have noticed at least the toilet issue while cleaning it before we arrived. Four people and one toilet was not what we rented so I lowered the cleanliness rating.

Great Location

Absolutely love Manzanita. I used to have a house here so it was great to be back, enjoying the beach, the town, and the surrounding beauty of the Oregon coast. This is a very nice house. I will state right-off that the stairs are formidable. They are right to state that the house is not appropriate for the mobility impaired. The grade and the spacing are uneven, so use caution. The lower stairs are ties and gravel, so the surface is uneven. Parking is tight. We have a smaller SUV which fit fine; however, two cars would be a very tight fit. Be sure to check the mirror across the street to see that no traffic is coming before exiting the parking area. The house has a nice view to the ocean which is just a two block walk. Be careful walking the road as there isn't much of a shoulder and there is a fair amount of use at certain times of the day, usually mornings and late afternoons with the local construction crews using Nehalem Road instead of Laneda Ave. as an access to 101. The kitchen was well appointed, with plenty of cooking utensils, plates and glasses. There is a small size Bosch D/W, ideal for two of us, rather than having to try to wait and fill up a full size D/W. Great. Wished I could have found this when I was remodeling a small cottage I have. The small non-stick sauté pan was ready to be sent to pots & pans heaven. The bed in the upstairs bedroom was comfortable and there was plenty of storage space in the closet. We didn't need to use the downstairs bedroom which was even larger, with two beds. I'd suggest providing another two pillows for the upstairs bedroom. The upstairs bathroom was immaculate, with a nice deep tub if you want to soak. The water pressure was great. We didn't use the lower bathroom; however, it looked immaculate as well. The downstairs is where the TV was located. It's not a particularly cozy part of the house, kind of a deterrent to watching TV, but we're primarily readers, so we were happy to stay upstairs and enjoy the living area with it's large windows and the great view. We made good use of the deck off the front as well as the patio on the rear of the house. It's a dog-friendly house and they are very thoughtful to provide sheets to use if your dog is inclined to be on the sofa. Very smart idea. Overall, this is a great house. If you don't mind the stairs, it's a great find. The proximity to the beach and to town are major plusses.

Presidents weekend stay for 4 adults.

We were not aware the only parking was down at the bottom of the stairs. The picture from above makes it look like there is a driveway above. It’s not safe leaving from the parking space there, even with the mirror across the street. A TV upstairs would have been nice for the wives while the guys were downstairs watching sports. Also, microwave is too small with very little power and the kitchen lacks serving bowls for a large salad and side dishes for dinner. Been renting homes in Manzanita for over 25 years. I can tell this one is a newer rental. I wish you success. It really is a nice little house.

Magical environment perfect for relaxation

The house was well appointed, functionally laid out and perfect for two couples (or one family). We had an totally relaxing 3 day trip to Manzanita and wouldn't hesitate to book this place again in the future. The dog friendly policy was an absolute plus, allowing us to adventure with the entire family. 10 out of 10

Great family beach vaca spot

Beautiful location to enjoy the Oregon coast. Nice spaces throughout the house for everyone to enjoy some “me” time. Nice towels and linens and extremely clean. Very well equipped kitchen. Everything a foodie needs to make some great meals. A bit too pricey and needs a garbage disposal and new door lock. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
