Perfect for a couple's getaway, a writing retreat, or a cozy home base to explore the area!

Enjoy a full suite of modern amenities in a renovated 18th-century cabin! It features a fully-equipped kitchen, a charming wood interior with a vaulted ceiling, and a spacious deck with a view of the birdlife and wetlands.

Swimming, hiking, and fishing on Goodyear Lake, 5 minutes away!

7 minutes from live music, cafes, and antique shops!

A firepit, a grill, and fairy lights make the deck a great place to enjoy the views and take in the stars.

Please note! The cabin is not isolated--there are several other buildings within sight on the three-acre property, including a farmhouse where your hosts are staying, so if there is anything you need during your stay you merely need call!

The Area:
Rail Explorers is nearby -- pedal bike along the scenic old railroads and take in the gorgeous views!

Brewery Ommegang is less than 10 miles away (a great place for beer tastings, dining, and live music).

The National Baseball Hall of Fame is a short drive away!

For dinner and going out, downtown Oneonta is just 7 minutes away with Thai, Caribean, Italian, Sushi, etc!

A regionally famous BBQ restaurant (Brooks’ House of Bar-B-Q) is just a 4 minute drive away!

Other things to note:
Please ask about our Romance Packages! We will have lots of special touches to set the mood from the moment you enter the cabin.

Chocolates, fresh flowers, a chilled bottle, wood in the outdoor fire pit, rose petals leading to the bed, candles, etc. Everything you need to mark an event, have a special anniversary or mini-vacation together! A perfect way to make your partner feel appreciated!

Lastly, PLEASE bring well-behaved pets only and also a crate!

Great cabin. All the amenities of a hotel. Clean and great view of the wetlands. Personal touch with chocolate and snacks upon arrival. Complimentary coffee and espresso. Would love to come back when the weather is warmer. Hostess friendly and available for messages.

This was such a wonderful stay! Laura is an amazing host, she's very communicative and gave me recommendations for things to see in the area. The cabin was clean, comfortable and charming with a lot of personalized touches (I loved the record player!) Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend staying here!

A Little Slice of Cozy Heaven
I seriously enjoyed my time here at the Heron. I needed to take a break from my work and the big city and I was so happy I could hole up in this little cabin with a view of the Wetlands. I went on a hike to Gilbert State Park and it was a beautiful space to get some fresh air and stretch my legs next to a beautiful lake. Inside the cabin each detailed was considered. I would come back if I can make the time.

Fantastic Stay With Lots of Amenities And Beautiful View
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The view overlooking the wetlands is really lovely and the cabin was immaculately cared for--antique beams and old-world joinery mixed with modern amenities and a record player with a good selection of vinyl. We really appreciated the chocolates, as a nice touch, and having a full kitchen available. Fast wifi and a large TV made for perfect romantic movie nights!
