Convenient clean B & B

Very enthusiastic young couple who own this beautifully restored historic house in a perfect location to visit the town of Matera. They did not speak much English, but whipped out their google translate for a very lively and enjoyable visit, including an amazing full breakfast of local produce.

Bien placé en ville, mais bof !

Chambre d’hôtes bien placée au coeur de la vieille ville, mais difficile à trouver, et accès nécessitant de franchir des escaliers ce qui peut être compliqué pour certaines personnes, sans compter les valises à porter ! N’accepte que les paiements en espèces, ce qui ne facilite pas les choses, sans compter qu’on ne voit plus cela nulle part ! Manque d’oreillers dans la chambre (1 seul oreiller par personne). Bon petit déjeuner avec des produits locaux… que l’on prend sous le regard des maîtres de maison qui restent plantés derrière leur comptoir… Bref, ce n’est pas la meilleure expérience de notre voyage en Italie !

Excellent accueil. Une vraie chambre d'hôtes tenue par un couple sympathique. Elle est située tout au bout de la zone des sassi, mais l'avantage, c'est qu'on peut garer la voiture à proximité. Possibilité de visiter Matera entièrement à pied. Pas vraiment d'espace extérieur, excepté le petit banc devant la maison.

Posizione perfetta per girare Matera, il b&b si trova nella zona del Sasso Caveoso (a meno di 5 minuti a piedi dal Convicinio di Sant'Antonio). La stanza è curata e pulita e i proprietari sono gentilissimi. Ottima anche la colazione varia e abbondante (superlativi i cornetti). Particolarmente degna di nota è la possibilità di parcheggiare gratuitamente a due passi dalla struttura (cosa molto rara a Matera). L'unica imperfezione riscontrata riguarda la descrizione delle condizioni presenti su hotels.com dove viene indicato "minibar con snack e bevande gratuite", mentre nella stanza era presente un frigo con solo due bottigliette di acqua e un chinotto (ad ogni modo i proprietari, a seguito della nostra segnalazione, dopo averci comunicato che si trattava di una errata indicazione sul sito e che avrebbero provveduto a farla correggere, si sono comunque offerti di fornirci eventuali snack nel caso in cui ne avessimo avuto bisogno). Assolutamente consigliato per trascorrere una-due notti a Matera.

A real gem

A great three-room B&B just a few minutes' walk from the centre of the sassi area and from a variety of cafes and restaurants. The hosts were very welcoming and took a pride in maintaining the property to a high standard. The room was clean, light and of an adequate size for our purposes. Breakfast consisted of local cheeses, meats and pastries - as much as you could eat. The B&B itself is located in a small "street" - there's no access for any vehicles and so it's a quiet location. Free, on-street parking is available in Via Casalnuovo, on a lower level to the rear of the property. The street is marked for residents only and I wasn't sure if we qualified or not, but the hosts said it wasn't a problem - and it wasn't!

Perfect

This is such a perfect B&B! We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. It's near free parking and in a very central location but still in a quiet part so you'll sleep very well. The place itself is very well maintained and the room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and the owners very friendly!

Esperienza eccezionale, posto molto bello in zona strategica per visitare i sassi. segnalo la straordinaria cortesia e premura dei titolari sempre disponibili, ma soprattutto segnalo la suntuosa e abbondante colazione a base di prodotti locali: veramente fantastico! unico piccolo neo, la strada vicina un po' rumorosa.
