Woodsy but not secluded
My husband and I stayed for the weekend. While the home is definitely out in the woods, it is not as secluded as we had hoped. There is a large occupied house that looks down on the rental house and hot tub. The ring doorbell can also see the hot tub, and we did not feel like it was private enough for us to use. The house is beautiful and there is plenty of space to wander in the woods.

Stayed here for a weekend for a mini honeymoon/wife’s birthday. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We stay at a lot of cabins around shenendoah valley and this one was definitely high on the list of quality. Very clean and cozy. We took a hike, enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub, grilled, and relaxed on the upper deck. All the appliances worked and shower was great. Our only issue was the bed was very noisy and sounded like it could use some attention or an upgrade, there was a good amount of japanese lady bugs and stinkbugs, but this is pretty standard for any cabin I’ve ever been to and almost impossible to prevent entirely, especially this time of year, it’s just part of mountain life and they keep to themselves. Other than these small issues, no complaints. We had a very relaxing and peaceful weekend and maybe next time we will come up to enjoy the cabin in the fall. Would definitely recommend for a couples getaway!

Wonderful getaway!
The cottage was cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed hiking and taking in the view. The cabin is secluded but only a few miles from town. We enjoyed a local brewery and distillery while exploring the area. Would definitely stay again!

Great Location
This was the perfect getaway for a weekend trip with my partner. The house was decorated beautifully. The indoor fire place was great in heating the place up quickly (it was 50 degrees inside when we arrived). We also enjoyed the hot tub outside during the brisk evenings. Place was clean and the owner was quick to respond when we had questions. We would definitely return!

A Destressing Getaway
This was a really beautiful and clean property, secluded in the woods. My husband and I enjoyed a bonfire, laying on the hammock and drinking our coffee outside in the morning. The lift is really cute but I would advise anyone with young kids it’s pretty high (about a 10ft climb up a ladder). Our kids would have been frightened by the height. I would definitely come stay again. The owners did a great job with the place.

Great experience in Shenandoah Valley
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the National park and coming home to this cottage every night. It was a perfect place for the two of us to unwind after hitting the trails each day.

Perfect get away
We had a great time and really enjoyed our weekend trip for our anniversary. The house was just the right size for the two of us. Very spacious bathroom and cute little kitchen/living room. The hot tub was great to relax in after a long day. The fire place came in handy the one day it was cold and rainy. The furnishings were very nice and we loved the way the house was decorated. There was plenty to do in the area when we felt like venturing out. It was a perfect place to relax and recharge.

If you are looking for a nice and quite place to just escape for the weekend, please visit this cottage. I bought my person here for his birthday, we both have busy lives and just wanted to escape and enjoy some quiet time. This place offered all of that and more. We would stay here again, the host was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed/

Weekend getaway
A hidden gem in the mountains.. not only were the hosts amazing, but went above and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable and taken care of. Between the wildlife that you see in the yard, including deer right up towards the house, to how quiet and serene it is. Your close to 2 towns, Winchester is 30 min away, and Strasburg is 15 min from the house. If you love antiquing, I would suggest going into downtown strasburg to The Emporium. It is a cafe/bookstore/antique store. Wear comfy shoes, it is massive and a lot of cool finds!! If your hungry, afterwards check out Crabby Maggie’s. Amazing seafood dishes, the owner is such a sweet guy. Or check out the Brewery right in town. A lot of different things to do around the area including a battlefield to check out… We will defiantly be back for another relaxing weekend!

Perfect Cottage
This cottage is the cutest place ever. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. It is very secluded, and right in the middle of nature, so my husband really enjoyed going out on the porch every morning and taking in the view. The cottage was also very nicely decorated. Our stay was short, so we didn't need much from the owners. However, whenever we were communicating with the owners, the response was lightning fast. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here!

Secluded retreat
We loved staying at this cottage! It was clean and private, and the features were higher end (great shower, modern kitchen, etc). Clearly well cared for. We loved sitting out on the porch and relaxing in the hot tub. Cons are the bed frame was very squeaky. There were some bugs, the trails were kind of overgrown, and the internet was a little weak, but that is to expected in the country. Overall we loved it and would totally come back. Very peaceful retreat with good hosts.

Beautiful modern cottage in the woods
My wife and I had an absolutely amazing stay at the secluded cozy cottage! Everything was brand new and nicely decorated, the property seemed to be newly constructed. The mountain views from the main deck were breathtaking. The trails on the property were one of the highlights for us and we enjoyed having such direct access to the top of the mountain. And of course, the hot tub was the perfect way to end the day of hiking at other nearby trails. The only constructive feedback I'd offer would be to upgrade the main queen mattress & frame to match the rest of the high end finishes, it was a bit on the stiff side. But otherwise a fabulous experience, would highly recommend!

A lovely, serene house perfect for a weekend away. The furnishings were great and the kitchen was very well stocked. There were some ladybugs, but I grew up in a rural area and I know that’s common and almost impossible to prevent completely. The owners made it an extremely smooth check in process and provided lots of information about the area, from trail maps to restaurant menus. I’m hoping to come back in a few months to see the pollinator garden in bloom!

A wonderful, quiet retreat
We really enjoyed our two days in the mountains. The cottage was wonderful - cozy and well appointed. We made use of the fireplace and the hot tub both days. We also took advantage of the hiking trails on the property and climbed to the top of the ridge, which was challenging but worth it. The TV signal wasn't very reliable (the internet relies on a dish and there was think cloud cover during our stay) but we didn't mind as it just helped us to unplug. The one thing we weren't prepared for was a lack of coffee. The cottage comes with a drip machine and some pantry items but coffee wasn't one of them and we didn't bring our own. If you don't want to miss out on your morning coffee ritual, be sure to bring your own. The towns of Strasburg and Woodstock were wonderful to explore and we'd love to return in the future. Definitely recommend this quiet cottage for anyone looking for a cozy experience and a chance to get away from it all.

The home is absolutely gorgeous and cozy! It is not too far from town and offers so much peace. The description and pictures are accurate. There were bugs, but they are all harmless (ladybugs, flies, etc). We would definitely come back just to stay at this home again!

Perfect Mountain Cottage
The secluded cottage with all the things you could possibly need. The drive in is gorgeous, especially in the late fall with colorful trees. If you have a slightly higher sitting car, I recommend on the gravel, however it's definitely not necessary. It's close enough to town centers if you need to grab something, but the cottage is stocked with things you may have forgotten. Overall, an outstanding place to stay.

Beautiful secluded mountain side cottage. Very nice kitchen area. Cozy and comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Relaxing 2nd floor porch for morning coffee and book reading. Fantastic getaway
We had a wonderful time staying here for our anniversary getaway. Truly delightful. The listing description of “well-appointed” is accurate- every detail of the place is lovely. The property is super clean, including the hot tub which was excellent. Everything feels new (except maybe the lovely antiques in decor) and well-maintained. Another reviewer mentioned bugs so we were on the lookout. There are a lot of stink bugs but we didn’t bother them so they didn’t bother us! It’s a secluded cottage in the woods so bugs are to be expected and it could have been worse so we were very happy :) The internet was spotty and slow but that was also to be expected and made for more quality time enjoying the birds and lovely nature views, and each others’ company. Thank you Lori and Dan! We hope to return soon.

Boyfriend and I spent the weekend celebrating our 3rd anniversary. While we had plans to visit the park and Skyline drive, the porch was so relaxing we never left the property! We had also brought a television with us as we planned to watch movies in the hot tub and that worked very well with the position of the tub in relation to the lower porch. It was hard to make out judging by the online pictures, but it worked perfectly! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook, and everything was sparkling clean. The only thing I would add to the listing description is the fact that there is a long set of steep stairs to reach the main living space. That was unexpected, and while manageable for me with an old knee injury, might be tricky for someone who struggles with stairs. The pictures don't reflect this in any way. We would definitely recommend this spot as it was sooooo peaceful and relaxing! We're wondering what privacy additions are being planned for when the house higher up on the property is completed. Perhaps some type of screen blocking the view of the jacuzzi? Overall a fantastic stay! Communication was excellent! Thank you Lori!

This property was so gorgeous and cozy. My husband I had the most amazing time. Wether it was sitting on the top deck overlooking the misty Mountain View or enjoying the hot tub in the rain, hiking up the mountain, it was so memorable! The host were always so responsive also.
