Peaceful Beachfront Oasis-- Walk onto the sand!

"The beach was AMAZING. The house probably was amazing 10 years ago. Super cute and quirky. But it was filthy and lacked basic maintenance. The outside decks had rust bleeding from rusty nails. I contacted the host and she sent her cleaning people. I was supposed to direct them on what to clean—awkward considering one was high as a kite (my daughter looked at me and said, “Mom that guys smells.”) The whole house needed a very deep clean, baseboards, railings (these had hand grease on them- the kind that accumulates after months of use) The walls had ick on them, sand under the living room area rug. The cabinet handles and kitchen chairs that had grease all over them. The owner and her cleaner, “Renata,” told me that most of this was natural wear and tear. I guess the thermostat that was hanging by wires off the wall was also natural wear and tear? Dead bugs in the upstairs bathroom which was, “normal.” Per Renata. After helping Renata change sheets because there were hair and stains on sheet/mattress pads I just wanted them gone because it was all so very weird. My family and I finished cleaning ourselves. Also, food left in the refrigerator for us from a previous guest. I was told this was a courtesy to us.My favorite however, was when I asked Sima for a refund on the cleaning fee-& a percentage back on the renting fee. She messaged me and accused me that I had been plotting this from the moment I walked in. Good grief. Stay Away."

"It was our 2nd stay at the lovely “seaside villa” and like before, it was wonderful! The house, pool and beachside area were as beautiful as ever. Tim is an awesome host and always attentive in ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We hope to be back again!"
