Quiet Retreat

This little cabin is full of charm. The views of the river are so peaceful, and the cabin was very cozy. The road to get there is a bit rustic, but the destination is worth it.

Little Fox Cottage

Loved this little cottage! It was perfect for my husband and I. Even though there are other rentals around it was still situated where is was secluded. It was neat and clean. The view from the wrap around porch was spectacular! We will definitely come here again!

Great Little Cabin!

We loved our stay at Little Fox! It helped that we were the only ones there (no others in the nearby cabins). The cabin itself is just perfect and clean and we love the view of the river and all the attention to details both in decor of the cabin and comfort for travelers. The White River is gorgeous, and we loved the laid back nature of the area. The Ozark Folk Center was a treat. We did NOT love the chirt road that has quite a few severe washout places...but if that's the price for the privacy and "in the woods" feel, I guess our car can take it. We appreciate the really great communication with owner, too. Thank you!

Secluded stay

We wanted to visit the area in the fall, very beautiful. The cottage was perfect for two, all the amenities as listed. We were the only ones in the area, as there's other cottages on the property. We had to use the dual a/c- heaters in the living area & bedroom due to cool weather; they both have remote controls for easy use. Pay heed to the rocky road from the highway to the cottage; not meant for a low lying car! Signage at the highway for the turn off road could be better; look for mailbox with fish plus there's a cemetery sign as well. Definitely arrive in daytime, not dark as it is pitch black at night; its very remote. About 1/2 way on road, theres a dead end sign, but keep going; as soon you'll see Fireside Retreat sign alongside the road; each cottage has its own little sign posted on a tree or pole to direct you. Theres train tracks along the river with occasional train; we had 2 come by in the daytime during our stay. We truly enjoyed our quiet, secluded stay!

Perfect getaway, quiet & peaceful. Host gave a great welcome pack with all the sights & details. Close to Walmart, restaurants & not far from caverns. The road is the only hiccup, it is gravel & about 3 miles. Absolutely loved it here!!

Absolutely stunning location right on the White River. Secluded little cabin that provided a peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing space. Highly recommend, even in the dead of winter.

Remote and quiet getaway

We enjoyed our stay! The road getting in/out was rough and I bottomed out in my car, so go very slow. Watch out for the trees when backing out cause we backed into one. There is no dishwasher, but there is a washer/dryer. If you want a very dark/quiet place then this is the place for you. We loved the deck and wanted to get off the grid for a few days, so it was perfect for us. The interent is spotty so cell phone/Internet service will be interrupted. There were plenty of towels and the bed was firm, but comfortable. There is so much to do in nature in this area, so highly recommend it.

A wonderfully quaint cabin on the banks of the White River. Peaceful and absolutely beautiful! My kind of retreat! The cabin was perfect for my husband and me. We wish that we had been able to stay longer.

Wonderful getaway

This was a beautiful, scenic getaway that we really enjoyed! The cabin was cozy and intimate, well-stocked with what we needed for our stay. The views were spectacular. Though there were cabins nearby, we had plenty of privacy and thoroughly enjoyed this refreshing time in nature.

Great place and view. Clean. Would have been nice if handle and lock worked on side door. Thankfully we were in our truck, thought would have been nice to have heads up about the drive in. If someone comes in low car it would be bad. Enjoyed our stay.

Cozy Getaway

This was the perfect cabin for my husband and I to get away for a few days. It is on the same property as two other cabins but the other guest were quiet and we really didn’t see them much. It’s so peaceful, the porch is perfect for drinking coffee in the morning. The inside is perfect for a couple and had everything we needed. We visited town every day, it’s only about 15mins from the cabin. It’s also a short drive from Blanchard Springs which is absolutely beautiful. We plan to return in the spring with my husbands family and rent all three cabins.

Perfect Getaway

The view of the rental was wonderful, it was very clean and pleasant to live in for a few days. The cell service is limited (due to location, not due to owner), but the wifi was sufficient for using phones in down-time. The nearby river is pretty cold, but the canoeing was very fun at the local retreat. Would rec for anyone wanting a small cabin to have a getaway in to disconnect! Not good for people that need to be connected to calls/texts 24/7, unless you can shift to email/imessage/social media while you're there.

Private cottage in the trees

My husband and I wanted to get away to somewhere really quiet and be alone We got just that! No one was staying in the other properties, so we had the place to ourselves. We enjoyed the views, ping pong and playing baggo The cottage is great for two people. Has everything we needed. Be sure to drive something other than a sports car though, gravel road is an understatement. We had a hard time in a Mustang. Truck or SUV would be ideal. Would love to return to any of the properties here.

Amazing place for a couples getaway!

We went here as a short anniversary stay. It was clean and nice and the view was amazing. Quiet and quaint and absolutely no problems! We will definitely be back in touch with them for future stays!
