We loved our stay at The Lyall. The room was stylish and generous - and very clean! The staff were welcoming and always helpful during our stay. And the location of the hotel was perfect, just off the shops and cafes of Toorak Rd. The only thing we missed at The Lyall was a gym.

Sophisticated hotel through and through. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The main entry/ shared facilities and bar area were wonderful. The staff were lovely and welcoming. Not to mention the hotel was located in a great spot. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful, boutique hotel right in the heart of South Yarra - 5 star luxury. The rooms are beautifully appointed with the most comfortable bed, pillows and linens. Dyson hair dryer! Perfect spot to meet a friend for a coffee or wine as well. We will be back!

Our executive suite was spacious, luxurious and an absolute delight to enjoy. We loved the bathtub, the bed and the balcony. We felt like Parisians being able to walk everywhere - from exercising around the Botanical Gardens to fine dining down Toorak Road and splurging on Chapel St. We loved our stay at the Lyall. It was the best wedding anniversary we experienced- and we’ve had 17 so far!

Beautiful hotel and staff

We had an amazing stay at the Lyall, it started with the early checkin as our flight landed early and the room was ready and waiting. Ester at reception was the most friendly and accommodating and made us feel so welcome and as we stayed here to celebrate my birthday she went above and beyond to make it so memorable , from the beautiful room to a surprise birthday cake. It was our first time at the Lyall, it is a beautiful, elegant and luxurious hotel with impeccable service - thank you for making our stay so memorable, we will be back for sure!

A fabulous place to base oneself in Melbourne. The rooms are well appointed and quiet. I understand dining options will increase shortly. It is a shame the bar closes so early (8pm), which means hotel residents can't enjoy a post dinner drink before going to bed. The proximity to the Tan is great, and the leafy streets around the hotel are lovely. Sadly, Toorak Road and Chapel Street have changed a bit, but other areas are within easy taxi distance, or a lovely walk. We would stay again. Thank you Lyall Team.

You have a serious problem in that the door into the building every time its opened lets the cold south Westerlies blow on the first 3 or4 and more nearest tables. and the fireplace warms the staff but not the customers who sit at the northern end of the sitting room Sadly the bedroom design has lost the ability to sit comfortably even with a guest for two to read and or use a a desk .The light from the verandah is now wasted. One bath maybe used once a fortnight is just a waste of space. Bed extremely comfortable single lights everwhere look nice but are fairly useless
