The location its self was excellent. The view was spectacular and the rooms and accommodations were comfortable. My only complaint and warning is getting to and from the location itself as is difficult to get to if you are traveling with luggage, children, elderly or injured. I had thought 8 mins from the ferry terminal was not bad but I did not realize it was basically a hike up the mountain with luggage and the whole family. There are portions of this walk that do not have proper lighting or sidewalk as well with flights of stairs and the apt is located on a narrow two way street where you have to cross at this very sharp turn so it is a bit nerve racking. My suggestion would be have the key in a key box on the property instead of requiring guest to check in person at the office back in town... We had to walk back down in the pouring rain to get the keys.So make sure you read the instructions!

Die Wohnung lebt vom Ausblick und der Lage. Der Rest inakzeptabel und ein absoluter Witz für den Preis. Renovierungsstau, Spülmaschine fällt einem entgegen, Verblendung ebenfalls, Tür zum Schlafzimmer fehlt, Fenster schliesst nicht, Putz bröckelt, Schrank kaputt, Sauberkeit ebenfalls naja. Viel Potential, aber alles ungenutzt. Gesamturteil: Naja….

Would Go Back

The spacious outdoor deck/patio with the enchanting view was a highlight of our stay. It’s a beautiful setting to relax in and spend time with family or friends. The lake, restaurants and shops are in walking distance. Walking the hill back up is a good way to work off pasta and gelato! The hill would be daunting, however, if you have mobility issues. The big pillars in the garage make the parking space a challenge. Nevertheless, we were able to park a mid-sized SUV in it with A LOT of effort. The most notable missing feature is a lack of a door on one of the bedrooms. The kitchen is well stocked, but some dish towels and a small bottle of dish soap would be appreciated. We didn’t have any trouble using the washer, dryer or dishwasher but did lose power for a couple of hours. Be careful about running multiple appliances at the same time.In summary, we would go back for the view.

Beautiful villa in Menaggio

The villa was large and comfortable with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. The villa was walking distance to the ferries and the town. The assigned parking spot was impossible to fit the car into.

Sorry, but I cannot recommend

We had high expectations for this place based on the photos and the listing, but were disappointed. First, this place is not quiet. It is very hot there, and since there is no a/c, you have to keep the windows open. It’s near the city, so there is constant noise from trash pick-up, vehicles, parties, etc. There were also lots of flies in the house and cigarette smoke from one of the neighbors that routinely filled the house. The house smelled like urine from time to time. We think it came from either the neighbors cat from the apartment above or from one the plants outside. Our bedroom had NO door. That's right, NO door. It appeared to be kicked in and we found it laying out back. There was a small room divider that was being used as a door, which was UNSATISFACTORY! We tried to contact the host per the instructions, but they NEVER responded. The place has more furniture than the pictures, most of which is unnecessary and it cluttered the place. We could not use the TV because it had the wrong plug. We could not get the washer/dryer to work (yes we followed the instructions). I'm not sure what is going on with this place, but it needs some help. The view from the patio was great, and we enjoyed that. There is a designated parking spot in the garage, but you better have a compact car (which we did) because that is all that will fit. Overall, there are better places to stay in Menaggio that also have great views.

The location of the property and the views from the apartment terrace was spectacular. Unfortunately it felt that was apartment was not well maintained. The layout was great but it had electrical issues. None of the appliances worked. The morning that we left, I woke up to the smell of burnt cable. We quickly packed up and left because of the strong toxic smell. If it wasn’t for the electrical issues, I would say it’s worth staying there but it’s not.

Electrical issues

Property was as advertised and had a great view but we experienced some major issues with the electrical service to the unit tripping on and off for one day and then the following day we had zero electrical power as the unit breaker would not hold on. We notified the management company but they didn’t respond and then we had two maintenance guys show up to replace a stove with no warning and they never looked at the electrical power issues. I would not rent this unit again and it’s sad as the property was nice

Could be So Much More

While we enjoyed our stay, and generally liked this condo for its location, view, etc., with just a little attention to detail, maintenance, and responsiveness, this place could be so much better. A few minor issues are to be expected, but there were far too many. For starters, the entrance gate doesn't open unless you pull the car further back than you would think, so not the best start to our stay, (others had the same problem). Door locks are also an issue, and the main lock for exiting the building would only work by using a key for the first 2 days, which is not very safe in an emergency. The condo also had a distinct order of a bad air freshener that was likely used to mask something like cigarette smoke. It got better after we aired out, but was still apparent the whole time. That, coupled with lights that didn't work in the master, sheets and blankets that were entirely too small for the bedding, not enough towels, and a clogged sink in the master bath made for a great deal of unnecessary frustration. And my attempt to email them to address some of these issues wasn't even given the courtesy of a response. Finally, there's a stairway down to the village that avoids walking down the road. However, the gate at the top, into the condos, auto-locks at some point, which is fine, but they don't tell you when that is, so I walked all they way up only to have to go all the way back down. Easy things to address, but far too many to overlook.

Clean, spacious and a stunning view!

I would stay here again! We stayed for two nights and I wished it were longer! The apartment had a stunning view of Lake Como and was very close to the central part of the town. The apartment was clean and spacious.

Tremendous view, but prepare to climb steps!

Overall my family enjoyed our stay in this apartment. What we liked best was, of course, the view! Aside from that, the indoor furniture was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, including a dishwasher. The beds were fairly comfortable and the linens decent. Nice washer and dryer for clothes. And the location relative to the main entertainment district of Menaggio, and in particular the Ferry station, was quite good. However, some things you may want to know, that the listing itself probably doesn’t tell you: - The parking space/garage is very small. If you have anything larger than a compact car, prepare for a difficult task to get the vehicle in the space without hitting a concrete pillar. Don’t even think about trying to get a large SUV (Chevy Tahoe, Land Rover, etc.) in there! - There are numerous steps to climb in order to reach the apartment from the road below. So if you have poor mobility or other health problems, I would think twice about this. There is another way to avoid the steps, but it would be a much longer walk in most cases, up/down a steep road. - There are other units in this building, and lots of signs about keeping quiet. So if your group tends to make a lot of noise, maybe not the best fit!

Even More Spectacular

The property was perfect for me and my 2 girlfriends. We each had our own room. The back is more suitable for kids and therefore, we used the pullout sofa in the front. This place could also be great for 2 families with kids. A little confusing of getting to and in the property. However, once figuring that out, it was easy. Close to town and easy to walk around, especially once you see path to cross street. Definitely need to be careful crossing the road. Loved it and would stay here again!

Beautiful view, but not inside

The view was amazing. The place it’s self was, O. K. I would not go back to same property as it wasn’t very clean and I ended up spending a day cleaning and making beds. Zero starters as well. Even a roll of paper towels would have been nice. Just not a good experience there for us. Make sure you get full instructions on washer and dryer, and lights in the house.

Urlaub mit drei Generationen

Wir sind mit unseren vier Kindern und den Großeltern gereist. Wir hatten genügend Platz für alle, nur am Esstisch war es etwas eng. Leider ist die Küche zum Kochen nicht so toll ausgestattet, es war nicht mal Spülmittel vorhanden, zu den Töpfen gab es keinen passenden Deckel… der Toaster schafft nur zwei Scheiben gleichzeitig, was bei acht Personen dann leider sehr lange dauert. Keinerlei Gewürze oder so vorrätig, nicht mal Salz. Der Parkplatz ist eng, war aber kein Problem. Das zweite Auto konnten wir im Ort kostenlos parken. Die Lage ist toll, wir waren vier Tage dort und haben alles zu Fuß und mit Schiff unternommen. Die Atmosphäre mit dem Garten und der tollen Aussicht ist etwas ganz besonderes!

Unforgettable

Mennagio is incredible and this property was beautiful. I could not get enough of the view off the balcony. The house had everything we needed for a family of 5 to be comfortable. I would go back tomorrow if I could.

Location and view phenomenal.

Plenty of room . A few stairs to climb but doable. View outside phenomenal. Dryer did not work. Check in a bit difficult with no parking. Would recommend.

Amazing view!

The rental was as described and the view was incredible. Staying in Menaggio is very convenient since there are frequent ferries to Bellagio, Varenna, etc. Stayed with a group of 3 couples. The bunk bed room worked but wasn’t ideal.

Five out of five stars!

Our group of friends had a wonderful stay in this property. We really enjoyed the incredible view, the state of the art bathrooms, new kitchen appliances, nice washer and dryer, comfortable furniture inside and out, plenty of closet space and electrical outlets, quiet and safe neighborhood, and lovely welcome basket. Also the property managers are very responsive, answered all questions, came over to show us how to operate the dryer and the TV and quickly resolved a few minor drain clogs. The only inconvenience was that we could not run more than one major appliance at a time without blowing a fuse. No big deal, we just were careful with the oven, microwave, dryer, and hair dryer not to run them at the same time. There are plenty of standing fans in the apartment and you will need them since there is no air conditioning. One surprising thing is that they only supply one roll of toilet paper per bathroom- even though we stayed for 16 days. The previous reviews prepared us for the walk uphill to the apartment, but we are in good shape, it was worth it to enjoy the beautiful view, and we appreciated the exercise! We will definitely come back!
