Casa Querida — A Private Oasis in the Heart of Mérida
A private 10-bedroom oasis in the heart of Mérida — designed for those seeking space, calm, and a memorable experience. Created by renowned architect Manolo Mestre, Casa Querida blends contemporary Mexican architecture with a warm, tropical sensibility.
The Space
Casa Querida is more than a home — it is a space designed to be felt.
The property features 10 bedrooms:
8 with king-size beds 2 with two queen-size beds
Ideal for families, retreats, or groups of friends, the layout balances generous shared areas with privacy and comfort. Multiple bathrooms, full air conditioning, and essential amenities ensure a seamless and comfortable stay.
Architecture & Design
Originally abandoned and overtaken by nature, the property revealed its essence when first explored — with a majestic ceiba tree and a striking chaká tree at the back of the lot.
That discovery shaped the entire project.
Designed by Manolo Mestre in collaboration with Santiago Vertiz, Casa Querida embraces:
Open spaces that blur the line between indoors and outdoors Natural materials such as stone, wood, and concrete A constant dialogue between light, shadow, and vegetation
The trapezoidal lot creates a unique spatial journey — the home gradually opens as you move through it, revealing light, water, and nature along the way.
Atmosphere
Surrounded by vegetation, birds, and natural textures, Casa Querida feels like a hidden sanctuary within the city.
Mornings begin with birdsong. Light filters softly through the space. The rhythm is slower, quieter, and more intentional.
The Experience
Whether gathering with friends, hosting a retreat, or simply slowing down, Casa Querida offers a space that feels both elevated and effortless — what we like to call laid-back luxury.
Philosophy
Casa Querida is not about making a statement — it is about creating an experience.
A place where less is more, where local identity matters, and where every detail is intentional.
Because here, luxury is not excess — it is attention: to space, to light, to materials, and to how a place makes you feel.
Location
Located in Mérida’s historic center, near Santiago, Santa Ana, and Santa Lucía, the home offers easy access to galleries, cafés, markets, and historic landmarks — all while remaining a peaceful retreat.
in conclusion
More than just a stay, Casa Querida is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and experience Mérida in a deeper way.
We hope it becomes exactly what its name suggests — a place that feels truly querida.
