“As soon as I walked into the hotel, I was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Gina was by far the sweetest young lady. She explained everything to me and showed me where the elevators were at as well as making sure I was comfortable. The room was all that and more! The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! I would definitely be back here when I visit my best friend again! 10 Stars if I could rate it that high!”

“The pool area is closed due to renovation but they have plenty of other spots on sight to meet and hangout. I loved the Pioneer bar and the bar tender makes great food and drinks of all kinds.”

“The room was huge. So much space to move around. Thank goodness for the toiletries bc we were only staying for 1 night & pack very light. The breakfast was ready before the set time, so whomever is leaving before 6am on the weekend will surely get a bite in before heading out.”

“The traffic near the hotel was crazy, as usual road construction, weaving thru a restaurant parking lot to get the hotel was weird; literally took 12 minutes before someone greeted us (another traveler and myself) and check us in, it was 4:16 PM, so nobody near from the front desk. The Machine Shed restaurant within walking distance, was great food, and incredible staff.”

“The property changed our reserved room without notification. Once we were checked in and saw the room and brought it to their attention, then they offered a discount.”

“The rooms/gathering areas/breakfast, and staff were amazing! The only hiccup we had was when we went to check in, they didn’t have us down that we were staying there. When I booked months ago through Expedia I had booked a (2 night) Friday and Saturday night stay. Then we had something come up that we needed to cancel just the Friday night and keep the Saturday. On Expedia it showed that my Friday night was canceled and my Saturday stay was still booked And even sent me alerts that my stay was……

“This is by far our favorite place to stay when we are in Des Moines! They have never let us down in all the years we have been there, and that says a lot!”

“We came back to this same hotel from a stay in 2025. It has significantly gone downhill. The entrance, hallways and doors are scuffed and look really worn. After check-in we found that our room was not cleaned. We specifically requested a room on the backside of the hotel to avoid Interstate traffic noise. The request was not communicated. Our room was clean and smelled deeply of Pine Sol. It had a fire alarm that continuously chirped, randomly. The first night, we called a front desk personnel……
