Directly behind the house there is a waterfall, which can be reached on foot in less than 5 minutes. There is a large natural pool for swimming and jumping, perfect for a refreshing dip. The water is of course cold, but in the summer months it gets very hot here and you can enjoy cooling off until October.

The Waterfall House is located in the middle of a group of authentic rustic houses above Mesocco in Andergia. Although the house has minimalist furnishings, it still offers everything you need for a stay with family or friends for a few days or weeks.

The house is spread over three floors. On the ground floor are the entrance, the main bathroom, a tool room and a cellar. The first floor houses the kitchen, the living room and a single bedroom. Both the kitchen and the living room have a dining table for 4 to a maximum of 6 people. There are three double bedrooms on the second floor. Two rooms are equipped with small desks. One double bedroom has a double button, so that up to 4 adults or 6 children can be accommodated. There is an additional WC between the first and second floor.

The tranquil setting of the house is perfect as a work retreat or a place to relax with family and friends. There is a large soapstone stove in the living room, which becomes very warm after several hours of heating and warms the living room and the adjoining bedroom perfectly. Once the stove is warm, the heat lasts for around 24 hours. The kitchen is heated by a small oven. The bedrooms on the upper floor are not heated, but there are mobile radiators for extremely cold days. Cherry stone pillows can also be used to preheat the beds.

Mesocco is not a tourist resort and that is where its beauty lies!

The house is particularly attractive as it is easily accessible by public transport and on foot. From the bus stop in Mesocco village it is about a 20-minute walk uphill to the house.

The house can be reached from Zurich by car or public transport in just 2.5 hours. Located in the canton of Graubünden on the south side, the Ticino side, it offers the best of both worlds: excellent cuisine from both regions, good weather, skiing in winter and swimming in lakes and small rivers.

The house has a dining table right in front of the house and just a few steps away next to a freshly planted apple tree is a garden area with another large table and parasol.

You can drive right up to the front of the house by car, but as the road does not go any further, there is no traffic. Children can play carefree here, run along the stream and explore the neighbourhood freely. The neighbourhood is very friendly and open-minded and helps each other while you enjoy your peace and quiet. In the evening, you can take a walk into the village of Mesocco and stop off at one of the restaurants.

In summer, swimming is very popular. In the autumn months, you can go hiking, pick chestnuts and walnuts and, of course, mushrooms.

In winter, you can go on great ski tours on the San Bernardino, visit the Eden Roc Spa in Locarno and simply enjoy some time out. Alternatively, you can explore the ski area on the San Bernardino or the somewhat more distant but worthwhile Tschappina. There is a large cross-country ski trail on the San Bernadino.

In the winter months, it is advisable to arrive early so that the soapstone stove can be preheated well. However, the top floor is not particularly warm, which is sufficient for sleeping but not suitable for everyone.

In spring, you can go for a walk again and enjoy the warming rays of sunshine.

Next to the house, in a former goat shed, is the farm shop inspired by The Estate, where a work of art is always on display and you can make your own espresso. Scan the QR code on the barn door to enter.
