First the good: Location. The apartment is located in an amazing location. Very central in beautiful Condesa with easy access to parks and transportation cafes and restaurants. Absolutely a joy. We felt safe in the neighborhood. The bad: The apartment is the absolute minimum in terms of maintenance1. Noise- The apartment is located on a busy street. This would be fine, given central location and being in a big city. The challenge is the windows do not close-- either due to rust (bedrooms) or rot (kitchen).2. Smell- The apartment has very poor ventilation-- none in the very small bathroom in the first bedroom and no vent in the kitchen. There is ongoing sewer smell from the bathroom. 3. Communication- Overall poor communication with he host. They have several hotels/apartments in the city and things were not addressed promptly. For example, we reported a strong gas smell from under the kitchen that was never addressed. 4. General neglect- The apartment has a lot of potential but is generally of poor care. Walls are dirty, windows are not clean, ceilings are not painted. Despite charging a premium for staying in an apartment, this felt more like a hostel level of maintenance which was very disappointing. Strong recommendation for staying in Condesa but definitely much to be improved in the apartment.
